Paris Daillencourt is about to crumble 🍰 Der zweite Band der „Winner Bakes All“-Reihe, die im Rahmen der fiktiven Backsendung „Bake Expectations“ (vergleichbar mit „The Great British Bake Off“) spielt. Paris Daillencourt ist extrem schüchtern und ängstlich - ständig malt er sich das Worst Case-Szenario aus, sieht immer nur was schief laufen könnte. Um ihm zu helfen über seine Unsicherheit hinweg zu kommen meldet ihn seine Mitbewohnerin und Freundin bei der Backsendung „Bake Expectations“ an. Doch ist das wirklich ein gute Idee? Und kann aus der Anziehung zu Tariq, seinem selbstbewussten Konkurrenten in der Show, mehr werden? Ich habe viele Parallelen zu Paris in mir gesehen - auch ich bin ein eher ängstlicher Typ Mensch und gehe oft alle möglichen Horrorszenarien in meinem Kopf durch - zum Glück bei weitem nicht so extrem wie bei ihm, dennoch konnte ich dadurch sehr mit ihm mitfühlen. Gerade deswegen finde ich die Geschichte gut! Ja, für viele mag sein Verhalten sehr nervig sein, aber meiner Ansicht nach ist es sehr realistisch. Auch wenn es ein Romance-Buch genannt wird ist Romance meiner Meinung nach nicht der Hauptteil der Geschichte, sondern die Entwicklung von Paris und wie er an seiner mentalen Gesundheit arbeitet (auch wenn es nicht geschadet hätte, wenn der Teil der Story etwas früher begonnen hätte). Ein wichtiges Buch, das durch den typischen Humor von Alexis Hall aufgelockert wird!
