I like how a lot of the characters are unlikeable but in a likeable way, if that makes any sense. It's totally not cool how they act ir what they say, but I can see where it's coming from. They are not just a**holes because the story needed one, but had reasons to be. Not that that made it okay, but it definitely gave the characters a more realistic personality.
Puh, es war wirklich anstrengend, sollte man nicht lesen, wenns einem eh schon nicht gut geht.
Ich habe ja boyfriend material letztes Jahr geliebt, aber hier musste ich mich wirklich fast quälen bis zum Ende zu gelangen. Ash war ein sehr anstrengender, manchmal unsympathischer Charakter, der sehr viele Päckchen mit sich herumträgt. Darians Essex-Dialekt war nicht gerade einfach zu ertragen und ich persönlich hätte nicht nochmal "babes" lesen wollen. Die Story war jetzt okay, aber nicht super spannend. Würde ich nicht nochmal lesen.
Schöne Charaktere aber etwas schwere Kost
Ich habe schon viele Bücher von Alexis Hall gelesen und geliebt, aber dieses bleibt gegenüber den anderen leider ein bisschen auf der Strecke. Es ist eins seiner ersten Werke und das merkt man leider etwas. Die Themen, die behandelt werden ähneln sich zwar und es ist viel davon erkennbar, was in den weiteren Büchern passiert (was auch in einem sehr witzigen Vorwort thematisiert wird), aber es fehlt etwas die Leichtigkeit und der Witz. So ist es auf jeden Fall für Menschen zu empfehlen, die ebenfalls die Bücher von Hall schätzen und sich auch mit dem Komplex mentale Gesundheit gerne beschäftigen. Ich würde aber empfehlen andere Bücher von Hall zuerst zu lesen, denn damit und mit dem wissen, dass dies eins seiner frühsten Werke ist, habe ich es trotzdem sehr gerne gelesen :)
