New York Times bestselling author Kalynn Bayron is back with a Frankenstein-tinged horror romance.
Meka is used to death. After all, it's the family business.
As a newly certified mortician's assistant at her parents' funeral home, her days are not for the faint of heart. Luckily her boyfriend Noah isn't squeamish, and Meka is finally feeling ready to say the three little words that will change everything.
But then tragedy strikes, and Meka's world is torn apart. Nothing makes sense, especially the strange things start happening. Ravens are circling her home. Strangers are following her. Someone is leaving mysterious items at her door. And worst of all . . .
The dead don't seem to be staying dead.
Meka thought she understood death better than anyone. Turns out, the family business is a bit more complicated than it seems. And Meka isn't the only one desperate to unearth their secrets . . . because the truth may be worth dying for.

Make Me A Monster nichts falsch :)

Interessante Handlung, netter Twist.
Kinda conflicted but also good
I have to say I'm a bit conflicted. On the one hand, I found the story easy to read and interesting. I haven't read about a funeral setting very often, and I liked it. I also appreciated the details of the individual preparations. However, I would have liked a bit more. The book wasn't super exciting; most of the answers felt rushed towards the end rather than being nicely distributed, and large parts of the book that were supposed to be "twists" were obvious to me from the beginning. Of course, not every book has to be surprising. I quite liked the humor and the writing style, although the use of rhymes seemed too frequent for me. But that's more of a personal preference, and I'm not deducting any stars or anything for it. Furthermore, I wanted to have a bisexual character without the bisexuality being particularly important. I would recommend the book, but it was somehow mediocre. However, if you like dark themes and YA, then this is probably for you. Beginning:4⭐️ Middle:3.5⭐️ End:3 ⭐️ Characters:3⭐️ Writing style:3⭐️ Score: 3.3 -> 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
