This book gives me ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo‘ vibes. It‘s sad and heartbreaking, and at the same time beautiful and healing. And this is one of these books where you slowly get to understand the title while you read it, and that broke my heart even more. Isabel isn‘t the ‘usual‘ twenty–something young adult that I‘m used to read about. She has lived a fair share of her life already. At first I expected her PoV to be more emotional. She is pretty matter of fact regarding her plan – but due to that this cuts as deep for me as it does…due to her being so devoid of emotion I actually got insight and could feel this book so much. The dynamic of her and Leila is intriguing, and I was instantly in love with these two. I will think of this story for a long time, it‘s the kind of story that sticks with me. 4.5/5⭐️
