I would eat this book.
This was a quick and fun read. The book starts with a creepy poem and every line of the poem is a chapter of the book and I think this us super unique and actually really intriguing. It’s was a good amount of creepy, absolutely weird and haunting. The ending was a bit rushed and I would’ve loved to see it more dragged out but oh well.

- the writing/the dialog felt like it was meant for some kind of sitcom, it just didn't feel organic at all - the characters all kind of seemed the same - I was right with my theory of the dead sister, lol - the story itself is ok, even though I didn't really enjoy the writing style - I love the ending
This was going to be a 4.5 to 4.75 but the ending was really weird and rushed imo, I didn't like it. It was beautifully written and atmospheric, and when I get goosebumps and a prickle on the back of my neck from a horror story it really means something, but I saw the plottwist coming very early on, and the ending, like I said, wasn't great.
This haunting horror novel is about mental illness, rage and grief. But it's also a spine-chilling ghost story. If I could, I would eat this book. Or would it devour me? We see alot of grieving. Grieving the past, loved ones or grieving the unknown. It feels real and very intense. There are so many ways to grieve and cope. This book explores the many ways of grieving. And sometimes grief isn't only sadness, but anger and violence too. Jane can't control her anger. And when she feels overwhelmed with her feelings, she eats books, just page by page. A very beautifully written book.
