Die Geschichte ist in weiten Teilen leider vorhersehbar. Nichtsdestotrotz ist der Schreibstil super und die Geschichte hat keine Längen. Die Zeit vergeht ratzfatz während des Lesens. Das Highlight sind für mich auf jeden Fall die Wölfe - keine hirnlosen Killermaschinen - also schon Killermaschinen, aber nicht hirnlos 😂 Die Hauptfiguren entwickeln sich hoffentlich im zweiten Teil weiter, da hatte ich mir mehr erhofft 😎

Einstieg in „Dire Bound“ war für mich richtig stark. Die erste Hälfte hat mich total gepackt… spannend, schnell zu lesen und mit genug Spannung, dass man ständig weiterlesen wollte. Leider hat die Geschichte ab der Mitte für mich deutlich nachgelassen. Der Plot wurde immer flacher und einige Entwicklungen waren schon ziemlich früh vorhersehbar. Dadurch ging viel von der anfänglichen Spannung verloren. Besonders die zweite Hälfte konnte mich nicht mehr wirklich überzeugen und wirkte stellenweise eher platt. Schade, denn das Potenzial am Anfang war definitiv da. Insgesamt trotzdem ein solides Buch, aber mit starkem Start und eher schwachem Ende.

O – M – G. What did I just read?! This was an absolute legendary read and easily a highlight of my year. I literally couldn’t stop reading – the story pulls you in from the very first pages and refuses to let go. I can barely put my excitement into words. The characters, the tension, the constant suspense, the plot… everything about this book just worked for me. It kept me hooked from start to finish with fabulous twists I genuinely didn’t see coming. Just an amazing story all around. If you loved the vibes of Fourth Wing, you’ll probably love this too. For me it felt like Fourth Wing x Hunger Games and I was 100% here for it! Jaw-droppingly AMAZING. Infinity stars from me. I can already tell this will be one of my — if not the — top reads of 2026. I highly recommend giving this one a try… and now I absolutely cannot wait for book 2.

Die ersten 25% des Buches waren ok und ich dachte am Anfang Joa das sind gute 3 1/2 Sterne aber als wir uns der Hälfte des Buches näherten dachte ich nur wow was ein Buch und ab 65% hatte es mich gepackt und ich konnte nicht mehr aufhören zu lesen. ACHTUNG SPOILER!!!! Am Anfang habe ich tatsächlich die Spice Scenen mit Lee geskipet weil ich irgendwie eine dunkle Ahnung hatte und ihn null mochte. Als sie dann mit Anassa gebondet hatte war das ganze klar für mich da geht mehr vor sich. Der ganze Plot um Meryn und ihre Herkunft hat mich einfach umgehauen. Natürlich ein paar Sachen vorhersehbar aber trotzdem war es soooo spannend. Ich freue mich einfach schon auf den 2ten Band 😍😍

Yesterday I finished this fantasy book and I'm in love. This book was so well written, the characters, the world building. Even if this could have been more detailed, I am thrilled and I can hardly wait to read volume 2! How am I supposed to endure this after this end? I loved everything about this book. Ich bin sooo froh, dass wir im Buchclub uns für Dire Bound entschieden haben. Ich bin ehrlich anfangs war ich dem Buch doch sehr skeptisch gegenübergestellt, denn gefühlt erscheinen so viele Bücher gerade mit Wölfen. (2026 Wolf Era 👀) Aaaaaaber what the Heck war das bitte für ein genialer Auftakt einer Trilogie! Meine Gefühle sind Achterbahn gefahren. Zwischen wütend, lustig, traurig und sorry aber alleine wegen der Protagonistin hätte ich gerne ab und zu das Buch gegen die Wand geschmissen. 😮💨 (Entwarnung es ist kein Buch zu Schaden gekommen) Irgendwie beginnt dieses Buch mit einer bereits bestehenden Liebe und dann wird auch schon die Schwester unserer Protagonistin entführt. Zusätzlich muss Meryn, also unsere Protagonistin, auch noch mit den gesundheitlichen Problemen der Mutter kämpfen. Für ihre Familie würde sie alles tun und um ihre Schwester zu retten lässt sie sich für das Militär einschreiben. Freundschaften und Bündnisse werden getroffen und das alles auch noch gepaart mit ein paar Sturköpfen. Ganz ehrlich dieses Buch muss man gelesen haben, denn ich kann gar nicht alles wiedergeben schriftlich um euch nur annähernd gerecht beschreiben zu können wie gut dieses Buch einfach war. 🥹🩷 Ich bin froh, dass Band 2 auf Englisch bereits erschienen ist, sodass ich direkt weiter in diese Welt eintauchen kann .🫂
Spannend von Anfang bis Ende
Direbound hat mich echt überrascht. Es fühlt sich zwar stellenweise wie eine Mischung aus Fourth Wing und Throne of Glass an, was dem Ganzen etwas die Unvorhersehbarkeit nimmt, dennoch ist es sehr spannend. Der erste Plot twist habe ich nicht kommen sehen, was danach passiert kann man sich jedoch teilweise etwas zusammenreimen. Am Ende hat mich das Infodumping etwas gestört, da nicht mehr viele Fragen offenbleiben. Ich bin daher gespannt, wie sich die Handlung weiterentwickelt, da es scheinbar noch zwei weitere Bände geben soll.

Die Tension mit Stark war großartig und ich fand es erfrischend, dass es aber von Beginn an einen anderen Love Interest gibt. Für meinen Geschmack war es an mancher Stelle zu blutig, aber dafür war klar, dass die stakes sehr hoch sind. Das Foreshadowing war mir ein bisschen zu stark, so dass mich nur am Ende ein bisschen etwas wirklich überraschen konnte, aber es hat trotzdem richtig viel Spaß gemacht. Der spice war tatsächlich ein bisschen zu viel für meinen Geschmack, obwohl ich den grundsätzlich gerne lesen. Es waren nicht nur zu viele Szenen, sondern sie waren auch zu lang und haben in manchen Fällen weder die Story voran gebracht, noch die Beziehung der Personen gefestigt. Aber das Buch an sich ist so gut, dass man darüber hinweg sehen kann.

OMG. Finally a 5-star read again. This book belongs on ALL your lists. The characters are layered, the world is unique, the magic is unique— and OMG, I could not put it down. Finished it in just 1.5 days. From page one it hooks you—the FMC is feisty, flawed, the banter is AMAZING. As someone who devours this genre, sure, I guessed one or two twists. But there was always that nagging feeling: maybe I’m wrong. (I wasn’t 😏). Still, it was gripping, never dull—just chef’s kiss. I can’t say much about the love interest without spoiling, but trust me: YES. YES. YES. I freaking LOVED it. Go. Read it. Please. You will not be disappointed. Oh, and don’t let the “dark romantasy” tag confuse you. For me, it’s not really dark romance—yes, it’s bloody and violent, but not in that way. And this is a DEBUT, people. 10/10!
