Description
After calling off her engagement in the wake of a tragic revelation, Yuko Moriguchi had nothing to live for except her only child, four-year-old child, Manami. Now, following an accident on the grounds of the middle school where she teaches, Yuko has given up and tendered her resignation.
But first she has one last lecture to deliver. She tells a story that upends everything her students ever thought they knew about two of their peers, and sets in motion a diabolical plot for revenge.
Narrated in alternating voices, with twists you'll never see coming, Confessions probes the limits of punishment, despair, and tragic love, culminating in a harrowing confrontation between teacher and student that will place the occupants of an entire school in danger. You'll never look at a classroom the same way again.

Gelungene Revenge Story! 🥛
— Was erwartet euch? 𝐁𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐆: 4 / 5 ✨️

Such a unique thriller! It was ruthless and full of revenge and yes, literal confessions. I loved the prose, how the author used the chapters for the characters and her writing was incredible to me anyways. It had twists, was a relatively short read and had everything what revenge stories and it’s consequences need!
This was a roller coaster ride. I did not really vibe with the writing style during the first 50ish pages, but as soon as I got to the end of chapter 1 and the first plot twist, I was hooked. Each chapter is essentially the same story told from a different perspective and each one adds new information and details. There were some that were more interesting than others, but overall I was interested throughout the whole book and always wanted to get to the next plot twist - and let me tell you, this book has some really good ones. I couldn't even tell you now, 2 days after finishing it, what really happened and what was part of the psychological tricks, but I was shocked each time. I could see myself rereading this in the future.
Well…..Let’s start with writing style. This book it’s not written like any other book that you would pick up it seems like since it originally was in Japanese that something went wrong with the whole translation and I feel like this book shouldn’t even be translated at all because that made the whole writing and understanding of the book really hard for me. Also, the story seems a little bit weird because the point of view is from the teacher and a couple chapters are really really long which is also something that normally isn’t the case and I feel like this is because of the translation because the book would have been not translated and stayed in Japanese it would be easier to understand then actually doing the work of a translation that breaks down the whole book content. I did not really enjoy this book due to the writing style being really messed up. I pushed through it just because I really heard good stuff about this book but turns out that it’s not for me simply just not a book for me
