Das Buch enttäuscht mich total. Anne hat ihren Charakter komplett verloren. Von der klugen und lebendigen Träumerin ist kaum noch etwas übrig. Sie wirkt eher wie eine Nebenfigur in ihrem eigenen Leben, zwischen Kochplänen, Kinderstreit und leisen Selbstzweifeln. Das ganze Buch dreht sich fast nur um ihre Kinder, und die sind ehrlich gesagt einfach mega anstrengend. Jedes bekommt so sein eigenes Drama, das sich zieht und mich kaum berührt hat. Anne ist meistens nur noch stille Beobachterin oder versucht Probleme zu lösen, aber sie selbst kommt kaum vor. Der Zauber der vorherigen Bände ist verschwunden und hat Platz für unnötiges Drama gemacht. Dazu schiebt die Autorin alle Frauen wieder in das Frauenbild der damaligen Zeit. Auch Gilbert ist kaum präsent. Ein immer müder Arzt, der nicht wirklich da ist. Am Ende denkt Anne sogar, er liebt sie nicht mehr und es liegt an ihr. Sag ich ja – absolute Zerstörung der starken Protagonistin. Für mich ist das keine Reife, sondern Opferung. Mal ehrlich, die Reihe hätte nach Band drei aufhören sollen.
