Nette Idee, nettes Setting, nette Lovestory. Aber eben nicht mehr.

Even more shocking than Insurgent in comparison to the movies.

Notes: - Tris and Tobias broke my heart in multiple ways - as did many other characters and things - Tobias please find your peace - Peter is such an interesting character - I feel like most characters were more multifaceted in this book - but all the back and forward was sometimes annoying - it actually makes a lot of sense both for Tris character and the message of the books that she died, it’s still extremely sad - the whole plot and characters are soo different from the movies - overall a great conclusion, it definitely has its weaknesses and was maybe a tad too long, but still heartbreaking Quotes: - „From one tyrant to another. This is the world we know now.“ - „I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.“ - „To me, when someone wrongs you, you both share the burden of that wrongdoing - the pain of it weighs on both of you. Forgiveness then means choosing to bear the full weight all by yourself.“ - „ I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me--they, and the love and loyaty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could.“

“I'll say it one last time: Be brave.” It's weird, how the last book is the one we all look forward to the most. And it's also the one we hate the most once we have put it down. Because it is the end, the end of a long journey, with characters we loved so much, and those that we loved to hate. "Allegiant" is the end of the "Divergent" trilogy ("Divergent", "Insurgent" and "Allegiant") written by Veronica Roth. It is the first book in the trilogy with two point of views characters telling the story. I am usually a fan of that, but in "Allegiant" it took a bit of getting used to. I spent half the book wondering who was telling me the story now, the voices weren't distinctive enough, so I ended up going back a lot, to see whose name was written at the beginning of the chapter. It got better in the middle, and in the end I hardly noticed anymore. In the end the two point of views were important, and that's all that mattered. “Yeah, sometimes life really sucks," she says. "But you know what I'm holding on for?" [] "The moments that don't suck," she says. "The trick is to notice them when they come around.” I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't read "Allegiant", or "Divergent". So all I am saying is that this is the best end in a dystopian series I have ever read. (And I have read a fair share of dystopian trilogies). It is a clever, fast paced throughout the whole thing. It lives up to the first two books, and does the series justice. Can't say that about all series finales. The whole story, as the first two, is also clever in that politics and science play a big part in the plot. Things happen or have happened in their past which seem scary, because they are real. Our society is headed that way if certain things don't change, or change for the worse. Allegiant will make you think and you will question a few subjects that can potentially change your everyday life. "There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater. But sometimes it doesn't." P.S.: keep a box of tissues close when you are headed for the end, and don't read the end in public, I made that mistake.
