Genau so war es bei mir mit Nocticadia! Der Prolog war einfach schon so extrem interessant, dass in meinem Kopf bereits hunderte von Ideen für den Plot und Plottwist aufploppten haha! Durch eine mysteriöse (zum Teil auch echt ekelhafte) Krankheit mit Würmern hatte das Buch einen extremen Suchtfaktor für mich, weil ich unbedingt wissen wollte was es damit auf sich hat und ob es wirklich eine Heilung geben wird und so weiter! 𝘼𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙯𝙪 100% ü𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙯𝙚𝙪𝙜𝙩! Und das sage ich als jemand, der den Professor x Student Trope eigentlich überhaupt nicht fühlt. Aber es wurde hier so gut und glaubhaft geschrieben, dass ich es geliebt habe! Wir haben auch ein extremes slow burn hier, was allerdings nur noch mehr dazu beigetragen hat, dass man die Entwicklung der Gefühle der beiden perfekt nachvollziehen konnte! Sowohl Lilia als auch Devryck waren beide extrem spannende Charaktere, mit genug Tiefe. Ich konnte extrem schnell eine Bindung zu Lilia aufbauen, wenngleich ich bei Devryk ein paar Kapitel Zeit brauchte. Ich hatte beim Lesen von diesem Buch auch eine absolute Sucht entwickelt haha! Ich wollte immer schnell nach Hause und weiterlesen und das zeugt bei mir absolut davon WIE gut die Story war! Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass Nocticadia ein absolutes Highlight für mich war und ich so froh bin es doch gelesen zu haben! Vor Nocticadia hatte ich ehrlich gesagt ein wenig Respekt, weil ich öfter gelesen hatte, dass die Beschreibungen sehr bildlich und teilweise ziemlich eklig sein sollen. Trotzdem wollte ich dem Buch eine Chance geben und bis etwa Seite 600 war ich auch wirklich begeistert. Der Schreibstil ist unglaublich atmosphärisch und spannend. Beim Lesen hatte ich oft das Gefühl, als würde die Umgebung um mich herum ein Stück dunkler werden, weil die Stimmung so gut eingefangen ist. Auch die Figuren haben mich schnell mitgerissen. Lilias Geschichte hat mich sehr berührt: der grausame Tod ihrer Mutter, ihr Wunsch herauszufinden, was damals wirklich passiert ist, und wie sehr sie sich immer für ihre Schwester aufgeopfert hat. Ihre Entschlossenheit und ihr Verhältnis zu Bee haben ihr viel Tiefe gegeben. Die Dynamik zwischen ihr und Devryck – der nicht umsonst den Spitznamen „Dr. Death“ trägt – war ebenfalls ein Highlight. Hinter seiner kalten Fassade steckt deutlich mehr, als man zunächst denkt, und die Spannung zwischen den beiden war der Wahnsinn. Auch der Spice war für meinen Geschmack genau richtig dosiert. Leider hat mich das Ende dann etwas verloren. Die letzten rund 80 Seiten wurden für mich deutlich brutaler und teilweise richtig ekelerregend. Eine Szene, in der eine Figur auf extrem grausame Weise verstümmelt wird, war für mich persönlich einfach zu viel - selbst wenn die Person zuvor selbst schlimme Dinge getan hat. Diese Darstellung hat mir den Schluss leider ziemlich verdorben. Außerdem fühlte sich das Finale für mich etwas abrupt an. Die Handlung nahm plötzlich eine unerwartete Richtung, die eher an eine Mafia-Story erinnerte, und ich konnte diesen Umschwung nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Da hätte ich mir ein runderes Ende gewünscht. Trotzdem: Die ersten 600 Seiten haben mich wirklich begeistert. Atmosphäre, Spannung und Spice waren großartig umgesetzt. Auch wenn mich das Ende nicht komplett überzeugen konnte, traf ein Großteil des Buches meinen Geschmack.
*between 2 and 2.5 Stars, sadly. I don't know, I really wanted to like this much more but I just couldn't. I really enjoyed the setting and the initial idea, and there were times when it was exciting, but my God did it drag. I was all in for the gothic and dark academia vibes, but it just felt like the author wanted to include too much. Secret societies, murder mysteries, dark romance, dark academia, and so on and so forth, but none of it was executed well enough. Also, the main characters were super flat. Devryck felt like a paper cutout that conveniently became all the tropes of male characters in dark romance rolled up into one. And Lilia just...didn't really have a character. They were all so inconsistent, and didn't feel like real people. Sigh. Anyways, I did like the overall idea and at times had fun, but that's it. I might give Keri Lake another chance though.

MY ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR FR! The book was so exciting that I could hardly put it aside, help! Things I liked: Lilia: - My girl deserves this happy ending so much^^ - the slap in Mel's face was definitely deserved tbh - I love her sm! Devryck: - Where can I find such a hot teacher? - This man is now one of my fav Spencer: - At first I found him annoying, in the middle of it he was an idiot and now I like him kinda Caed: - The "If you don't want me, I'll take your little sister" man - I like him<3 Plot: - Everything was so unexpected and actually I only wanted to read the book because of the protagonists, but in the end I even liked the storyline Things I hated: Everyone: - I hate everyone who hated my poor girl Lilia The ending: - Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that there is a happy ending, but I think it's a shame that there is no other book about this :( Definitely recommended for all those who are looking for a book with teacher x student, dark academia and dark romance.
I really liked the first 2/3rds of the book. Some explicit scenes (you’ll see) are pretty long and ongoing - come on, 55 pages of you know what? The end seemed rushed and a little all over the place with all the different storylines. I don’t know, what to say - I kinda liked it and kinda didn’t 😅
Addictive!
I flew through the pages and drank every sentence in. The idea of this was unique, fresh and compelling, I loved how Lilia spiraled into the world of moral greyness, fully aware what she's doing and what awaits her. Following the inner darkness of Darvyk was absolutely fascinating as well. One tries to become more white, the other more black. I'd loved to have a sequel with another couple, since some interactions in this book came far too short and cramped into a few pages. But since the author said she won't be returning, that's that.

Ich habe erst dieses Jahr angefangen mit Dark Romance. Dieses Buch war ein Dark Romance mit gewissen etwas. Mir hat der Gothic Anteil sehr gefallen vor allem als ein großer Fan von Age Gap war dieses Buch phänomenal. Ich habe Professor Bramwell geliebt. Auch Lilia habe ich sehr ans Herz geschlossen. Sie war sehr sympathisch, klug, und hat sehr vieles hinterfragt. War auf jeden Fall eine nette Abwechslung im Gegensatz zu den anderen Büchern, die man immer so liest wo FMC aufhört zu denken, sobald sie sich verliebt hat. Ich kann dieses Buch wärmstens allen Leuten empfehlen, die Dark Romance lieben.
Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich von Seite 1 an von dem Buch gefesselt war. Und in jeder Sekunde in der ich nicht gelesen habe, musste ich an die Story denken und konnte es kaum erwarten weiter zu lesen. Ich war zu keinem Zeitpunkt der story gelangweilt und auch der Spice war gut dosiert. Ich war der festen Überzeugung, dass das Buch ein Fünf Sterne Buch wird. Leider hat es mich im letzten Viertel etwas verloren aufgrund von einem Charakter, der dort aufgetaucht ist und das Ganze wurde für mich etwas zu klischeehaft. Das Buch hat mich trotzdem entertained und ich hatte eine gute Zeit damit. Leider hat es für fünf Sterne nicht gereicht. 4 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Vor Nocticadia hatte ich ehrlich gesagt ein wenig Respekt, weil ich öfter gelesen hatte, dass die Beschreibungen sehr bildlich und teilweise ziemlich eklig sein sollen. Trotzdem wollte ich dem Buch eine Chance geben und bis etwa Seite 600 war ich auch wirklich begeistert. Der Schreibstil ist unglaublich atmosphärisch und spannend. Beim Lesen hatte ich oft das Gefühl, als würde die Umgebung um mich herum ein Stück dunkler werden, weil die Stimmung so gut eingefangen ist. Auch die Figuren haben mich schnell mitgerissen. Lilias Geschichte hat mich sehr berührt: der grausame Tod ihrer Mutter, ihr Wunsch herauszufinden, was damals wirklich passiert ist, und wie sehr sie sich immer für ihre Schwester aufgeopfert hat. Ihre Entschlossenheit und ihr Verhältnis zu Bee haben ihr viel Tiefe gegeben. Die Dynamik zwischen ihr und Devryck – der nicht umsonst den Spitznamen „Dr. Death“ trägt – war ebenfalls ein Highlight. Hinter seiner kalten Fassade steckt deutlich mehr, als man zunächst denkt, und die Spannung zwischen den beiden war der Wahnsinn. Auch der Spice war für meinen Geschmack genau richtig dosiert. Leider hat mich das Ende dann etwas verloren. Die letzten rund 80 Seiten wurden für mich deutlich brutaler und teilweise richtig ekelerregend. Eine Szene, in der eine Figur auf extrem grausame Weise verstümmelt wird, war für mich persönlich einfach zu viel - selbst wenn die Person zuvor selbst schlimme Dinge getan hat. Diese Darstellung hat mir den Schluss leider ziemlich verdorben. Außerdem fühlte sich das Finale für mich etwas abrupt an. Die Handlung nahm plötzlich eine unerwartete Richtung, die eher an eine Mafia-Story erinnerte, und ich konnte diesen Umschwung nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Da hätte ich mir ein runderes Ende gewünscht. Trotzdem: Die ersten 600 Seiten haben mich wirklich begeistert. Atmosphäre, Spannung und Spice waren großartig umgesetzt. Auch wenn mich das Ende nicht komplett überzeugen konnte, traf ein Großteil des Buches meinen Geschmack.
*between 2 and 2.5 Stars, sadly. I don't know, I really wanted to like this much more but I just couldn't. I really enjoyed the setting and the initial idea, and there were times when it was exciting, but my God did it drag. I was all in for the gothic and dark academia vibes, but it just felt like the author wanted to include too much. Secret societies, murder mysteries, dark romance, dark academia, and so on and so forth, but none of it was executed well enough. Also, the main characters were super flat. Devryck felt like a paper cutout that conveniently became all the tropes of male characters in dark romance rolled up into one. And Lilia just...didn't really have a character. They were all so inconsistent, and didn't feel like real people. Sigh. Anyways, I did like the overall idea and at times had fun, but that's it. I might give Keri Lake another chance though.

MY ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR FR! The book was so exciting that I could hardly put it aside, help! Things I liked: Lilia: - My girl deserves this happy ending so much^^ - the slap in Mel's face was definitely deserved tbh - I love her sm! Devryck: - Where can I find such a hot teacher? - This man is now one of my fav Spencer: - At first I found him annoying, in the middle of it he was an idiot and now I like him kinda Caed: - The "If you don't want me, I'll take your little sister" man - I like him<3 Plot: - Everything was so unexpected and actually I only wanted to read the book because of the protagonists, but in the end I even liked the storyline Things I hated: Everyone: - I hate everyone who hated my poor girl Lilia The ending: - Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that there is a happy ending, but I think it's a shame that there is no other book about this :( Definitely recommended for all those who are looking for a book with teacher x student, dark academia and dark romance.
I really liked the first 2/3rds of the book. Some explicit scenes (you’ll see) are pretty long and ongoing - come on, 55 pages of you know what? The end seemed rushed and a little all over the place with all the different storylines. I don’t know, what to say - I kinda liked it and kinda didn’t 😅
Addictive!
I flew through the pages and drank every sentence in. The idea of this was unique, fresh and compelling, I loved how Lilia spiraled into the world of moral greyness, fully aware what she's doing and what awaits her. Following the inner darkness of Darvyk was absolutely fascinating as well. One tries to become more white, the other more black. I'd loved to have a sequel with another couple, since some interactions in this book came far too short and cramped into a few pages. But since the author said she won't be returning, that's that.
Gothic, Dark Romance
Ich habe erst dieses Jahr angefangen mit Dark Romance. Dieses Buch war ein Dark Romance mit gewissen etwas. Mir hat der Gothic Anteil sehr gefallen vor allem als ein großer Fan von Age Gap war dieses Buch phänomenal. Ich habe Professor Bramwell geliebt. Auch Lilia habe ich sehr ans Herz geschlossen. Sie war sehr sympathisch, klug, und hat sehr vieles hinterfragt. War auf jeden Fall eine nette Abwechslung im Gegensatz zu den anderen Büchern, die man immer so liest wo FMC aufhört zu denken, sobald sie sich verliebt hat. Ich kann dieses Buch wärmstens allen Leuten empfehlen, die Dark Romance lieben.
Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich von Seite 1 an von dem Buch gefesselt war. Und in jeder Sekunde in der ich nicht gelesen habe, musste ich an die Story denken und konnte es kaum erwarten weiter zu lesen. Ich war zu keinem Zeitpunkt der story gelangweilt und auch der Spice war gut dosiert. Ich war der festen Überzeugung, dass das Buch ein Fünf Sterne Buch wird. Leider hat es mich im letzten Viertel etwas verloren aufgrund von einem Charakter, der dort aufgetaucht ist und das Ganze wurde für mich etwas zu klischeehaft. Das Buch hat mich trotzdem entertained und ich hatte eine gute Zeit damit. Leider hat es für fünf Sterne nicht gereicht. 4 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
