About the book

In a manor by the sea, one sister is still cursed.

Seventeen-year-old Verity roams the shadowed halls of Highmoor under the watchful eye of her older sister Camille, but she dreams of adventures far beyond the family estate. So when their sister Mercy sends word that the Duchess of Bloem wants Verity to paint a portrait of her son, Alexander, she jumps at the chance. But Camille refuses to let her go, revealing the secret she's kept for years: that Verity is cursed by ghostly visions.Stunned and with nowhere else to turn, Verity flees to Bloem. She is captivated by the lush grounds and is instantly drawn to the charming and impossibly handsome Alexander. As romance blossoms, Verity finds it harder to ignore her nightmares. Is Verity's past finally catching up to her, or could there be a darker side to Bloem under its sickly-sweet façade?Don't miss The Thirteenth Child, another deliciously dark enemies-to-lovers fairy tale retelling by Erin A. Craig.

Okay HOLY GUACAMOLY WHAT WAS THAT?! I have already been madly in love with the first "Sisters Of The Salt" book. And I can only give the same verdict to this one as well! House Of Roots And Ruin was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, dealing with stories about perfectionism and the repercussions of unresolved family trauma. Plus, again it had some very unsettling elements to it, that spooked me in just the right way! Hopefully we will be able to read of the Thaumas sisters again soon because I am already deeply missing them and their odd yet vast world.
