MY GOD WHAT AN ENDING!! LIKE OH MY GOD LAST 50 PAGES BLEW MY MIND!! I KNEW THERE WAS SO MUCH MORE AND IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO EASY, LIKE COMMON ON. I liked this book far better than the first one, I mean it picks up with action and ends it up with even more action and also with a little normalcy. xD Talking about the characters, we get to know a lot about the characters in this book than from the first one, their personalities and more of their power. The character development is soooo good. We are also introduced with a lot many characters throughout and they are all very great characters and it is an adventure an experience to know about them. There are peculiar animals, peculiar kids in the normal world, outside the loop as well. Esmee and Sam I wish to have a bond like you two sisters. ADDISSON I LOVE YOU, he is one of the best characters I have ever read. Enoch sometimes i feel like slapping you, I mean seriously just shut up. Olive you are so cute, I wish you were my daughter. :) Bronywn you are the best person in the whole group, you maybe the strongest but you are the kindest of all. Millard I feel you bruv, I wish and hope there is somebody out there for you and I am pretty sure you are the good looking one of them all and that suit, LIKE MY God just fit you perfectly. Horace, I wish I was like you. Hugh, BRAVEST OF THEM ALL! Miss P, I miss you, I want you, I am lost without you..!! darn library of souls where are you? I cannot wait to put my eyes on you! I love the way I was traveling to different loops and different time zones meeting new people, going through that time zone and it all felt real because it was backed up by those amazing pictures, it was like going through someone's journal. BUT I AM SO CONFUSED ABOUT THE LOOP THING and the aging can someone explain it to me? MUST READ FOR EVERYONE I LOVED THE CHARACTERS EVEN MORE, LOVED THE ACTION PACKED ADVENTURE only thing which was not as great as the first one were the pictures, the first book had amazing like mind blowing pictures! This book has some great pictures!

And another peculiar book...and I start to believe that the author himself is very close to peculiardom. Where does he get all these creative ideas from that he wove around those more than just strange old photographs? Jacob, who decided to stay with the peculiar children he discovered in the first book, and Emma, who was the love of Jacob's grandfather (yes, that's a weird part of the book) are the two leaders of the peculiars who are forced by wights and hollowgasts to leave their safe spot on this Welsh island as it had been raided. Her Ymbryne, Miss Peregrine, the carer of the group who can create time loops and shift into a bird's shape, kidnapped by the wights and even though the children are brave enough to steel her back, they only have a bird with them now that's unable to shift back. And the time is pressing. They need to find another Ymbryne who is able to help Miss Peregrine change back to her human existence...and so they start a long, thrilling, dangerous adventure with a lot of peculiar people (and animals...oh, I LOVED the animals!), but also wights and hollowgasts on their way. Making this book a lot darker than the first one. There is a lot happening in this book and I don't want to give anything away. I'll just tell you so much: this story nearly explodes with creativity, beautifully creepy old pictures and sidestories. And this is what I liked so much. There are many little dead ends, people the children meet on the way and leave again. Not everything that happens, the children see or do does have to do something with the story to go on and that's what makes it impossible to guess what actually will happen. That's what makes it seem more real. I don't like books that much in which you know that if the hero looks at something a little closer this has to come back at some point and will be super important. So, the labyrinth-like story and the extraordinary pictures are a definite plus! What kept me from rating this book five stars is first, this kind of awkward love story between Emma and Jacob (there's no need for a love story in every book, no need to force one between a boy and a girl who loved the boy's grandfather once!), and second, I felt that the characters didn't develop very much. There was more potential in the story that could make them grow but they just didn't (I'd expected more from Jacob and Enoch especially. I know that them being children is one of the main parts and I don't want them to act like grown-ups but Jacob was a little annoying to me sometimes and Enoch was used mainly to create some tension and that's it.) Still, leaving that out it is a wonderful book and I'm looking forward to the third part which is already announced on the last page...HURRAY!! :)
