About the book

DON'T MISS THE NEXT ADDICTIVE THRILLER FROM TIKTOK SENSATION AND CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED AUTHOR ASHLEY WINSTEAD.

After her father dies suddenly, Jane Sharp drops out of university and retreats to the online world of TheRealCrimeNetwork.com, where she befriends four amateur sleuths from across the country. When three college students are viciously stabbed to death, seemingly at random, it sets the world of amateur sleuths ablaze and the team travels to small-town Idaho to find answers—only to discover the truth is more shocking than any other case they've investigated.

A poignant commentary on the consumerization of true crime, an exploration of society's fascination with murder, a moving meditation on grief, and a brutally satisfying murder mystery with a shocking twist ending, This Book Will Bury Me is Ashley Winstead at her best. Perfect for readers of All Good People Here and Bright Young Women.

"It’s what we will never know about the ones we love that binds us to them." I went into this book blind and I wish I wouldn't have. Realizing after finishing the book what I just read made me nauseous. I'm just glad that I always read library books so at least I didn't spend money on it. The author says in the synopsis that she put elements of a real crime in her book. I just didn't know that she literally took almost every single detail from a real life case. Copy and paste. At the time of the release that case hadn't even gone to trial!!!! I'm disgusted by the authors actions. While reading I found the narrative addicting to read. The short chapters, the bread-crumbing of information, the character dynamics, and the idea of a “tell all” story are quite a good concept. The snippets about the grief of losing a parent, something that the author experienced herself were truly powerful. This makes me want to shake Ashley Winstead and ask why she could'nt have made up her own bloody crime for the sake of the plot, rather than exploiting a real life trauma from a real life community. She has a top tier story on its own - she didn't need to use the notoriety of a horrific current event in order to sell the concept. It's a shame a good story had to be overshadowed by a vile, unfortuante writing decision. Please don't support this book.
