Bookshops & Bonedust

I loved all the characters and the cozy town. This truly transported me onto a calm place where connections and pleasant interactions rule the day to day. If you like something cozy and slowly getting to know a small town, this one is for you! Unfortunately this book was not as good as Legends & Lattes. Travis writing is still as good as in L&L but the story was mhm. Spoilers for both books ahead!! What i missed was the almost video game feeling "leveling up" of the bookshop. Whenever a milestone was met, something new happened and personally, that's what i loved about L&L! Even if sometimes obvious, it gave the story a red thread to follow and the cafe grew organically. There could have been more potential, like a book club or a book swap or even a free book library out front where people could bring read books. I did miss some of those elements. What also was funny is that i really thought Viv x Iridia was gonna happen... which didn't. Idk i kinda felt their connection more in the beginning. Maylee was fine but yeah. I was not a big fan of the "hon". And my last point: The way the Varine situation was handled was so boring. The suspense got me on the edge of my seat and that's how it got resolved? Ok. 3.9/5 🌟

Die Vorgeschichte von Viv zwischen dem ganzen Gekloppe als Söldnerin. Ich fands super interessant, die Vermischung zwischen der Heilung unserer Heldin und dem angespannten Warten auf ihre Söldnerkompanie. Natürlich passieren dafür ein paar zwischenmenschliche Geschichten, denn natürlich kommt Viv nicht mit allen Charakteren auf die sie in Murk trifft sofort zurecht. Ein mega entspanntes Buch mit einem kleinen Spannungsbogen gegen Ende (so in den letzten 50 Seiten) Ich fand auch beim zweiten Buch den Schreibstil des Autors im originalen Englisch gut lesbar. Und bleibe gespannt wo es im dritten Band weiter geht 🥹
