Dieses Buch hatte für mich eine eher ungewöhnliche Geschichte, weswegen es mich auch interessiert hat. Eden und Calder sind bereits als Kinder gefangen in einer Sekte. Eden soll mit dem Anführer verheiratet werden, jedoch kommen sich Eden und Calder im Laufe ihrer Jugend immer näher und zweifeln langsam an dem, was ihnen seit ihrer Kindheit eingeredet wird. Können Calder und Eden noch vor der Verheiratung fliehen, oder müssen sie ihre Liebe für immer verheimlichen? Teilweise bin ich beim Lesen nicht ganz so zügig voran gekommen, wie es normal der Fall war, dennoch hat mir dieses Buch gefallen und ich bin auf den zweiten Teil gespannt. Ich hätte mir eine Triggerwarnung vorab gewünscht, es wird das Thema gezwungene Abtreibung behandelt. Wirklich friends to lovers, so wie es beschrieben ist, ist es jedoch nicht, da die beiden nie befreundet waren.
