3.5* Ich finde es total schwierig dieses Buch zu bewerten und ich glaube das liegt daran, dass so ein langes Buch ist, denn es gibt Teile die haben mir wirklich unglaublich gut gefallen, doch es gibt leider auch Teile in dem Buch mit denen ich nicht viel anfangen konnte. Ich versuche mich daher erstmal an ein paar allgemeinen Aussagen, die auf das gesamte Buch zutreffen: Der Schreibstil ist unglaublich toll. Das ganze Buch lohnt sich eigentlich schon nur wegen dem tollen Schreibstil zu lesen und ich denke der Schreibstil hat auch viel dazu beigetragen, dass mich die Längen die das Buch teilweise hat nicht so gestört haben. Zudem ist auch die ganze Welt die Patrick Rothfuss geschaffen hat unglaublich faszinierend. Es gibt ganz unterschiedliche Kulturen, verschiedene Sprachen, Normen und Traditionen und in diesem Teil wurde die Welt nochmal deutlich vergrössert, da Kvothe sich eine Auszeit von der Universität nimmt und ziemlich viel herumreist. Ich finde die Magie auch unglaublich toll und die Universität ist eindeutig einer meiner Lieblingsschauplätze in der ganzen Geschichte, ich würde super gerne dort studieren. Kvothe ist ein toller Protagonist, teilweise kann er einem zwar auf die Nerven gehen weil es fast zu perfekt wirkt, doch er hat definitiv das Herz am rechten Fleck. Vermutlich ginge er mir auch mehr auf die Nerven wenn man nur die jüngere Version von ihm kennen würde, doch ich finde besonders den älteren Kvothe sehr interessant. Nachdem ich sehr über das Buch geschwärmt habe, habe ich leider auch ein paar Kritikpunkte: Als erstes hatte ich etwas Probleme mit der Erzählstruktur, denn den ersten Teil der Geschichte verbringt man der Universität wo man die meisten Figuren kennt und sich auch für sie interessiert. Doch dann geschehen gewisse Dinge und man verbringt den einen sehr grossen Teil der Geschichte an verschiedenen Schauplätzen, die zwar auch interessant sind, aber man erfährt einfach nichts mehr darüber was an der Universität geschieht. Die Handlung wirkte in diesem Teil oftmals auch etwas ziellos. Während die Geschichte voller interessanter Figuren war, hat es mich doch gestört, dass die weiblichen Charaktere oftmals so wirkten als wären sie hauptsächlich als love-interests da (Kvothe war echt plötzlich der totale Frauenheld, dabei ist er ungefähr 16) und trügen abgesehen davon nicht viel zur Geschichte bei. Besonders die ganze Geschichte mit Denna ging mit oftmals sehr auf die Nerven. Auch sind fast alle weiblichen Figuren natürlich jung und schön und auch wenn sie talentiert sind, natürlich bei weitem nicht so toll wie Kvothe (wobei eigentlich niemand so toll ist wie er), sie könnten echt etwas mehr Tiefe vertragen. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf den dritten Teil, denn Patrick Rothfuss schreibt echt toll und ich mag die Reihe bisher, auch wenn ich meine Kritikpunkte habe.
To be honest I'm a little conflicted to rate this. I liked many things! Kvothe's friends at the university, especially Sim and Fela really grew to me. Somehow I hadn't noticed them that much in 'The Name of the Wind'. I'd even say, that I'm more fond of any of the characters introduced in the first book, except Ambrose and probably Master Hemme. Even Denna had one or two nice parts (I cried at the scene where Kvothe's lute was missing. It was really nice of her and I'll give her credit for that even thogh I'm not that fond of her). I was happy when Kvothe achieved something (like the gram, the bloodless and after he grew a little better at his ketan) and I think some elements of the worldbuilding werde pretty interesting and felt adventure/fantasy-like. Oh and before I forget it: Master Elodin is hilarious! I kind of don't want to write an extensive review of the thinks I didn't enjoyed that much, so I'll keep it short: - the book felt too long, there were some repetitive things (Kvothe being poor...) and story parts that could have been shortened - there was too many coincidence (Kvothe finding Denna in Severen, later in Tarbean, like there are more than three big cities in the world... it's not really realistic, also the Maer's missions for Kvothe...) - too many achivements were lost in an unpleasant way (It happens, I'm still not happy about it) - I'm personally not too fond of Kvothe's uhm love life (Sometimes I found certain things a littel uncomftable to read, but that is really personal opinion I guess...) - Some story sections really seemed to just being build up for Kvothe's reputatuion (like saving the two girls from the fake troupers) not that I didn't enjoyed them (I actually liked the later half of that part pretty much) but it comes with the coincidence and the books purpose - also I think that those impactful things will get really important in book three and most of book two was just the way of introducing things that will take part in Kvothe maybe confronting the chandrian At the end I'll still read the last part, it it will ever be finished and published. I'm too intrigued about the current part and with what Bast wants and why Kvothe changed. And I wonder how the author will tell us these things. I hope the set off in book two will pay off at the end and we'll dig deeper into the Amyr and the Chandrian. 2.5 - 3 Stars
Das 2. Buch und damit auch das letzte Buch der Kingkiller Reiher. Insgesamt eher ein Rückschritt im Vergleich zum ersten Buch. Einige Abschnitte kamen mir eher unausgereift vor, aber nichtsdestotrotz ist es ein gutes Buch. Wenn man Buch 1 mochte, wird einem auch dieses gefallen.
