This Poison Heart

This was so bad… First of all I loved the magic system and the plot seemed good but nothing happened till literally around 260 pages. The author packed everything in the last 70 pages and just it just fell flat. She could’ve used all that and stretch the investigation more to create a interesting and gripping atmosphere. Also the Love interest was just so dumb it just didn’t felt right (for one reason I can’t mention because spoilers)it was that kind of insta-Love that just didn’t work out. They had literally nothing in common, it just seemed like they loved each other cause Marie was „so beautiful“. Don’t recommend reading it if you don’t like slow burned stories

"This Poison Heart" was one of the first English books I read. I found it very interesting to read such modern words as "Tik Tok" or "IKEA" in this book. At the beginning of the book, I didn't really know where this story was going. But as the book progressed, I became friends with the exciting content and the new characters. The ending was a bit unexpected. But it was still a great reading experience. If you are looking for a book to start reading English, I can highly recommend this book. It's relatively simple English and it's written in an understandable way, so I didn't really have any problems understanding it. Deutsch: „This Poison Heart“ war mit eines der ersten englischen Büchern, die ich gelesen habe. Ich fand es sehr interessant solch moderne Worte w.z.B. “Tik Tok“ oder “IKEA“ in diesem Buch zu lesen. Am Anfang des Buches wusste ich nicht so recht, wo diese Geschichte hinführen sollte. Doch im Laufe des Buches habe ich mich mit dem spannenden Inhalt und den neuen Charakteren angefreundet. Das Ende war dann doch etwas unerwartet. Aber trotzdem war es ein tolles Leseerlebnis. Wenn du ein Buch suchen solltest, mit dem du in das Englische Lesen starten kannst, kann ich dir dieses Buch sehr stark empfehlen. Es ist relativ einfaches Englisch und es ist verständlich geschrieben, so dass ich eigentlich keinerlei Verständnisprobleme hatte.
