Nachdem mir "The Book of Ivy" so gut gefallen hatte, bin ich von "The Revolution of Ivy" ein wenig enttäuscht. Der Plot war für meinen Geschmack ziemlich dünn und es ist nicht wirklich was passiert. Das setting außerhalb des Zaunes fand ich zwar interessant, aber so richtig gepackt war ich nicht. Ich fühlte mich auch ziemlich durch die Geschichte gehetzt. Während lange Zeit nicht wirklich was passiert ist, ging es dann zum Ende Schlag auf Schlag. Die Charaktere waren mir zwar sympathisch, aber so richtig erreichen konnten sie mich dieses Mal nicht. Das Buch war für mich zwar unterhaltsam, aber es machte ein wenig den Eindruck als ob der Autorin die Ideen ausgegangen sind und es unbedingt noch ein zweiter Teil geschrieben werden musste.
