A book about true friendship that went beyond love and had to live through many truths.

”My dad had been wrong: 𝐈𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞. Maybe if I had acknowledged that sooner, I wouldn't have brought the knife and maybe Blaine would still be alive…” "Suddenly a Murder" is about a disturbing experience that seven teenagers had to live through shortly after graduation. The story is told by Izzy, who, like everyone else, has been invited to a museum for a week by her best friend Kassidy. The two have a penchant for 1920s movies, and their favorite film was shot at this Ashwood Manor museum. Actually, the seven teenagers just wanted to celebrate their graduation together and have fun. A whole week without adults, in fine clothes, delicious food and feeling like a hundred years ago. But none of them could hold back past conflicts or their own secrets for the time being. "Violence has seeped into the dark hallways of Ashwood Manor, and now one of us is dead." As you not only get an insight into the present, but also into the past, you gradually learn more and more about the individual relationships between the characters and the murdered man, whereby the background story slowly builds up and more and more things become clearer and you can guess along with the investigation described from Izzy's point of view. Because although the initial hints very obviously point to one person, all six have a plausible motive, which leads to a very surprising twist at the end. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭. (This book is also very suitable for beginning readers in English.) ______Spoiler______ "You're my best friend, Izzy," she says. "You're more important to me than Blaine could ever be. I couldn't let him get away with destroying your life." Izzy and Kass were born into two completely different worlds...and that's exactly why they give each other a completely new perspective on things. Neither of them ever felt anything was more important than their friendship. Kassidy in particular was loyal, and was there for her friend, even killing the person she loved for Izzy's safety. And even when she was dead, she still protected her best friend. Marlow and Izzy are very sweet together. He was there for her at the end and always made her smile. My heart sank when he explained to her why he doesn't call her Izzy like everyone else. "That pasta pomodoro is what I taste when I say your name, Isadora. You taste like my favorite memory." I was so shocked when I, as a reader, finally found out Izzy's motive. Up until that point, I had assumed that Blaine had taken advantage of her disabled sister and slept with her. But no, he had an affair with Izzy's mom?! It is so impressive of Izzy that she reported her mother anonymously to prevent her from sleeping with an underage student again. It was very sad that her father passed away and that she hadn't spoken to him for several years because of her mother. My wish for Izzy and her sister Caye is that they will finally have a good life with their father's sister Naomi.

A book about true friendship that went beyond love and had to live through many truths.
