If you pretend to feel nothing, the pretense may become true, said Jem. That would be a pity. A collection of short stories about Jem? That’s EXACTLY what I’ve wanted for year and I can’t wait to read them all! The first one is about the day Jace arrives in New York and he meets the Lightwoods for the first time. I’m not sure how I feel about this story. I love new stories by Cassie but I’m not too interested to read more about Jace. He’s the main character of six books already! That being said, I loved Max‘ and Jace’s interactions (“Jonathing can sleep in my room because we love each other,” Max proposed.) I liked Max and I enjoyed reading more about Alec’s awkwardness around cute guys. What I didn’t like were Lily’s nicknames for Jem (e.g Brother Lipsmackariah, Brother Hop-in-the-sack-ariah) They were horrible, cringey and unnecessary! What I loved the most were the references about Will. Jem and Will’s parabatai bond will always be my favourite thing of the Shadowhunter world. So many emotions! It wasn’t the most perfect story but I enjoyed it nevertheless, if not for the Will references. Can’t wait to read the other stories!
