Über das Buch

Klopfende Herzen in San Francisco!

Lola Nolan is a budding costume designer, and for her, the more outrageous, sparkly, and fun the outfit, the better. And everything is pretty perfect in her life (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood. When Cricket, a gifted inventor, steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Hmm, im having mixed feelings about this book. Since it’s the second book in the series you can’t help but compare it to the first one, and I must say I liked Anna and the French kiss more. This review has spoilers btw ‼️. The first character we have is Lola, full name Dolores, and she’s has a rather unique personality and way of style. I’m all about expressing yourself through fashion, but to be honest some things were so random described that I couldn’t help but imagine her like a clown sometimes 😭😭. The other character we have is Cricket (odd name I must say, I thought it was a nickname/inside joke at first) the boy who broke her heart several years ago, and is now the boy next door. I had fun reading the book and I read it relatively quickly. Now we get to some of the characters; one character I found weird was Max (Lola’s Boyfriend) and not only him but the fact that he was 22 and she’s a girl who JUST turned 17😃. They were together for quite some time throughout the book, but I’m happy they weren’t endgame lol. Then we have Lindsey (Lola’s Best friend), and I liked her, their friendship was really cute !! I love the fact that Lola’s parents (Nathan and Andy) were gay LMAO. Turns out tho: Biologically, Nathan is Lola’s uncle because his sister, Norah, gave birth to Lola - didn’t want her and gave her to the couple instead. Norah has had a history with criminal records, homelessness and trouble - but as the story progresses i didn’t found her so bad to be honest. Cricket and Lola’ friendship had some ups and downs - especially in the past, but I’m happy they got their happy ending !! I really liked the scene with the Winter ball, Lola as Marie Antoinette but still herself with cricket by her side. Cricket was a very cute character, I really like him - and the gifts and things he made for Lola were so incredibly cute😭. Anyway, let’s see what I’m gonna think of the third and last book.
