The 2016 debut bloggers can't stop raving about. Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train and The Ice Twins

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace.

He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. Though, you’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.

Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.

4 stars because this book made me feel some type of way. It had me irked and apprehensive from the start which is very rare. It definitely was spellbinding and that's a good thing. Well written in terms of simplistic style and descriptions. The only fault I find is that the ending left me dry. It was very anticlimactic. I can see why the written stuck to the ending of dehydration of Jack just as Molly had died but maybe it would have been better to introduce a little me suspense by seeing Jack survive and then creating a scenario where she wins differently. (Even if this would have been even more nerve wracking, or maybe I'm being a saddist. Any way great read!

3.5

This book is not the answer to Gone Girl like it was advertised, the appeal of this book doesn't lie in its suspense at all, but in its action. We discover pretty early what is going on and the plot doesn't deviate from that scenario. It is not about figuring out a mystery, but watch everything unfold in this fast paced story. The book is broken up in past and present, the time between those two periods narrowing and bringing them together for a dramatic ending. The authors writing is simple and straightforward, but she was able to construct a plot full of tension. The book goes to show that there are flaws beneath every perfect surface and shows one extreme example of what could really be going on behind closed doors.

Gripping Spoilers. This is not the sort of book I would usually read but I was intrigued about it so I gave it a go. I was not disappointed In this at all. So this a thriller and it doesn't leave you wanting but there are some things that you want to go faster maybe a little bit more from it but maybe for some it would leave you a little uncomfortable. It leaves you wanting to see him get what he deserves. What makes it more interesting is that millie the girl with downs syndrome is the one that sees the way out of the problem it teaches you to never judge a book by it's cover in this case what there disabilities are. I also love that the fact that the women who lets face it we thought would create problems is in fact the one that helps her the most it also leaves you thinking how on earth did she know when she is new into her life and the people who were close to her didn't know what was going on. A brilliant book one that I couldn't put down.

This book was absolutely fantastic. I was totally engrossed for the whole thing and couldnt stop reading! The story is Grace is a 30 something, woman who has a sister Millie who has Down Syndrome. Graces parents didnt want Millie, when she was born. Well it was long before that but Grace eventually persuades them that she will become Millies legal guardian. Then one day Grace meets Jack Angel. The perfect man, who is...just, well, perfect and she think what has she done to deserve this lovely man. Grace and Jack get married and well life is just perfect. At least it is on the outside. I loved the whole thing completely. I have nothing bad to say about this book at all. I am totally gushing over it right now on how brilliant is it and how much I loved it. The twists turns, the whole story is fantastic. Go buy it.

I'm a bit disappointed, I honestly expected more nerve wrecking thrills from this. Maybe I would've been more interested if there had actually been violence in this, if the author had turned Jack into a hypocrite by choice, but most of the time he's simply indifferent about her, locks her up only for the convenience of not having to watch her, not for malice. (Except when he sends her to the red room, but he seems to have some resemblance of an honor code as he only ever did if she angered him.) It was also quite obvious from the start who would aid Grace in getting out of this mess. It would've been much more interesting if Esther had actually gotten involved, if they had managed to secretly talk, if Grace would've had to convince her of the trouble she's in.
