Robert Jackson Bennett used the hook, line sinker method perfectly in this novel. The hook is a very cleverly done introduction to the world, in a unique way, that instantly sparked my interest. The line is the entrance of our main character Shara. Refreshing to see a strong and intelligent female lead character and not a teenage one at that. The sinker is the amazing world Bennett created. This too, feels pleasantly fresh. It's a mix of urban fantasy with a technological advanced society and standard fantasy elements. The whole history surrounding the world is very interesting and get's explored a lot. The story is very well paced and keeps a narrow focus on the main character, no complex multi layered PoV strands. Overall a very entertaining novel, with great characters, a gripping story and a rich world. What more could you possibly want? Even though it will not come out until September you should definitely put it on your to-read list! Highly recommended
