Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Weiner delivers "a tale of love against the odds" (People).

Rachel Blum and Andy Landis are just eight years old when they meet one night in an ER waiting room. Born with a congenial heart defect, Rachel is a veteran of hospitals, and she's intrigued by the boy who shows up alone with a broken arm. He tells her his name. She tells him a story. After Andy's taken back to a doctor and Rachel's sent back to her bed, they think they'll never see each other again.

Yet, over the next three decades, Andy and Rachel will meet again and again—linked by chance, history, and the memory of the first time they met, a night that changed both of their lives.

A sweeping, warmhearted, and intimate tale, Who Do You Love is an extraordinary novel about the passage of time, the way people change and change each other, and how the measure of a life is who you love.

I must’ve missed something…

The book was nothing what I expected from the blurb. I expected a hopeless romantic and heart-breaking story. Far away from it... The beginning was quite cute with Rachel and Andy meeting as children at the hospital. Unfortunately right after it, the story started to drag. Several childhood stories were told from both characters but they never pointed out their short meeting. Accidently they meet again severals years later and of course they are deeply in love immediately. *spoiler ahead* From this point on the story jumps through the years and they are never really together for a long time. This made it really difficult to connect with the characters and believe their love for each other. The story really dragged telling about the seperate lives of Rachel and Andy with only short encounters of both seeing each other. I had to skip many parts because it was simply boring. The writing style itself was not too bad and at several points I had high hopes that the story would progress now but in the end I am simply disappointed.
