Playing on such classic themes as good versus evil, the book is at once a fantasy, a thriller, and a coming-of-age story.

Malene Sølvsten, geboren 1977, debütierte 2016 mit dem ersten Band der Fantasy-Trilogie DAS FLÜSTERN DER RABEN und wurde im selben Jahr für den ‚Buchpreis der Leser:innen‘ (‚Læsernes Bogpris‘) nominiert. Die Serie entwickelte sich in Dänemark rasch zu einem Überraschungserfolg und Bestseller, für den die Autorin 2018 den ‚Edvard P. prisen‘ vom dänischen Bibliotheksverband erhielt. Für Band 1 ANSUZ erhielt die gelernte Ökonomin 2022 den renommierten deutschen Jugendbuchpreis BUXTERHUDER BULLE. Malene Sølvsten lebte mit ihrer Familie in Kopenhagen, wo sie 2024 nach kurzer schwerer Krankheit verstarb.
