"They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace - Christopher Robin went down with Alice."Curl up with A.A.Milne's classic book of poetry for children, When We Were Very Young. This is the first volume of rhymes written especially for children by Milne - as popular now as when they were first written. This collection is a heart-warming and funny introduction to children's poetry, offering the same sense of humour, imagination and whimsy that we've come to expect from Milne's favourite books about Winnie-the-Pooh, that Bear of Very Little Brain. This book is all the more special due to E.H.Shepard's decorations, which are shown in full, glorious colour. They are truly iconic and contributed to him being known as 'the man who drew Pooh'.Do you own all the classic Pooh titles?Winnie-the-PoohThe House at Pooh CornerWhen We Were Very YoungNow We Are SixReturn to the Hundred Acre WoodThe Best Bear in All the WorldOnce There Was a BearTales from the ForestWinter in the WoodThe nation's favourite teddy bear has been delighting generations of children for over 95 years. Whether you're 5 or 55, Pooh is the bear for all ages.

Süße Verse und Geschichten, aber kaum etwas von Winnie the Pooh.

Charming poetry to escape life for a bit or look back

Reading poetry in book form front-to-back isn't really something I enjoy, but you can pace it rather easily. The poems range from hilarious to silly, and there are even some weirder/nonsensical ones sprinkled in. Only one poem refers to a bear, but that one turns out to be the most hilarious of them all. At the end of the day, the poems are a window into the walks A.A. Milne took with Christopher Robin and offer an insight into themes of growing up, playing, deep thoughts, and general childish fun. Enjoying it at a slower pace and thinking about ones own experiences as a child gives you a great reading journey.
