Schonungslos ehrlich erzählt Simu von den Erwartungen seiner Eltern an ihn, von den (verbalen und leider auch körperlichen) Attacken, denen er ausgesetzt war, von den Anforderungen, er solle doch bitte Arzt, Ingenieur oder ähnliches werden. Und dem Willen, sich selbst durchzusetzen, zu verwirklichen und seinen eigenen Weg zu gehen. Trotz der ganzen Tragik seiner Geschichte, klingt öfter als einmal auch eine gewisse Comedy durch, derer Simu sich nicht einziehen kann, was dem Buch nur nochmals ein zusätzliches "Schmankerl" verleiht.
