Description
“Currently the most popular romantasy webnovel . . . Under the Oak Tree is a Korean romantasy with intense emotional depth, weaving trauma and love in a medieval setting. [It] explores the internal and external struggles of Lady Maximillian and Sir Riftan in a fraught, evolving marriage.”—Bleeding Cool, in praise of Under the Oak Tree (The Comic)
Lady Maximilian is the daughter of the powerful Duke Croyso, but she is rarely allowed outside her family’s sprawling castle for fear that her stutter will tarnish their noble name. When she is forced to marry Sir Riftan, a lowborn knight caught in one of her father’s schemes, Maxi doesn’t dare hope for happiness, let alone love. Her stumbling communication and his gruff manner sour their relationship before it can begin, and Riftan leaves without a word the morning after their vows are exchanged.
Now, three years after their disastrous wedding night, Riftan has returned as a war hero. To Maxi’s surprise, despite rumors that he was offered marriage to Princess Agnes, a beautiful and renowned sorceress, Riftan still wants Maxi for his wife. And when he comes to claim her, his longing becomes a desire that bewilders Maxi, even as she is overcome by the scorching heat that Riftan’s presence ignites within her. As she learns to navigate the intricacies of her new life, Maxi will find herself and her courage, and discover that she is anything but powerless.
This volume collects chapters 1-76 of the original webnovel by Suji Kim.

Maxi & Riftan 🔥
Guilty Pleasure
Forced marriage, he falls first, fated mates, reluctant hero, the mentor, traumatic past, miscommunication, etc.
Definitely not good as a book.
Dafuck? What was that? In this book happened nothing...I read it because I thought something would happen but everytime it started getting exciting was turned down immediately the next moment. It was really getting on my nerves that Maxi always backed away. There was no growing happening. We'll almost. What happened was a huge amount of sex. I mean damn can you two even talk to each other please? And sorry but in the beginning I always felt like Riftan was raping her she always was afraid but never said a thing. I the whole book there was no bonding with anyone really. Maxi was just always afraid or doing her tasks as lady or trying to hide that she's not a well trained noble lady, when she isn't in bed with Riftan. Though she started learn magic in the end it was just an addition to her daily schedule. Now I saw there is also a comic and actually I like the comic version much more than the book. The story fits just better as a comic.
This book was recommended to me by girlies from my book club. I really love medieval story’s and story’s about knights. The book is based of a webtoon with the same name. And I feel like the novel version really tried to keep up with all the spicy fantasy books out there. I feel like a lot of it was kind of forced. However that beside I really enjoyed it. It’s super cozy and an easy read. It’s not high fantasy. The magic system is very simple and the characters are like what you would expect from a book like this. However that was exactly what I was looking for. 💖 If you look for something cozy, medieval, strong male love interest, bunch of knights, a sorcerer for the little extra jealousy and dragons: this is yours. Note: I am usually a fan of strong female leads. Our protagonist isn’t fierce but she is strong in her own ways. Or at least she tried to be. And I love to see her grow. 🫶
„The first moment I saw you, I knew you would ruin me.“❤️🔥 Können wir mal bitte über dieses wunderschöne Cover sprechen? 🐉
