🍋 Kurzfazit: Wer Italien/Freundschaft/Mordfälle/70s Rockstars mag (genau in dieser Kombi), wird dieses Buch lieben. Mini-Bisschen an Sommerfeeling auch vorhanden. Schneller Lesespaß mit verwirrendem Ende, das dann eigentlich alles wieder 'n bissl kaputt macht. [Vorsicht, ab hier gibt’s Spoiler ‼️] Na, was haben wir denn hier? Zwei befreundete Autorinnen. Besties. Oder doch Frenemies? Ganz klar ist mir das nicht geworden, aber egal. Dieses Büchlein ist aus zwei Perspektiven geschrieben. Zum einen haben wir hier die besagten Freundinnen, die eine Villa in Italien für ihren Schreiburlaub buchen und zum anderen eine Gruppe an Musiker samt Anhang, die sich in besagter Villa in den 70ern gegenseitig abgemurkst haben. 🥸 I have to say, die Musiker fand ich unterhaltsamer. Die beiden Freundinnen waren so… meh. 🤷🏼♀️ Dass Chess was mit Emily’s Mann am Laufen hatte, war mir recht schnell klar. Dass Em das dann so easy-peasy ganz locker gesehen hat war… ja. Idk. Grinds my gears a bit. Aber hey, you do you, girl. Für mich war Chess einfach ne manipulative Bitch. Das gesamte Ende war daher einfach mit einem ziemlich fahlen Beigeschmack versehen. Nix mit „We‘re bestiiiiies, let’s write a book together“. Ne. Aus meiner Sicht hat Chessilein einfach Em‘s Idee klauen wollen und sich an ihrem Erfolg beteiligen wollen. Und Mari mit ihrem last minute Mörder-Change hat’s nicht besser gemacht. Ganz ehrlich, warum lügen, was den Mord angeht? Wie um Himmels Willen wollte sie jetzt noch Johnny‘s Ruf wahren? I mean, er ist bereits für den Mord verurteilt und tot? Hä? Ja. Ohne das Ende hätte die Geschichte sicher was dazuverdient an Sternchen.
