Description

Auch beim zweiten Band gefällt mir das Cover wieder sehr gut und auch diesmal passt es wieder gut zum Inhalt. ACHTUNG! Dies ist der zweite Band, daher könnte die Rezension möglicherweise Spoiler enthalten. Da mir der erste Band der Umbrella Academy schon so gut gefallen hat, habe ich mich riesig gefreut, dass mir der Cross Cult - Verlag auch den zweiten Band zur Verfügung gestellt hat. Vielen Dank! Der Zeichenstil von Gabriel Ba war wieder total klasse und ausdrucksstark. Ich habe mich wirklich in die gesamte Aufmachung der Comics verliebt und man merkt beim lesen, wie viel Mühe sich auf jeder einzelnen Seite gegeben wurde und wie hochwertig der Comic ist. Der Stil von Gerard Way war auch im zweiten Band wieder voll mit dunklem Humor und das düstere Setting blieb erhalten. Das man in den Comics viel mehr über die Gedankengänge und die Beziehung der einzelnen Geschwister erhält, gefällt mir total gut. Die Handlung thematisiert diesmal den Attentat an den Präsidenten J. F. Kennedy und somit reist man in die Vergangenheit. Es ist total durchgeknallt, anders, krass und brutal - aber genau dieser Mix ist macht den Comic so interessant und spannend. Ab und zwar war ich jedoch ziemlich verwirrt, was vor allem an den vielen verschiedenen Zeitsprüngen lag, die für mich keinen Sinn ergeben haben. Band 1 und 2 der Umbrella Academy Comics ist also quasi Staffel 1 der Netflix-Serie, obwohl ich finde das man das nicht richtig miteinander vergleichen kann. Mein Fazit: Mit Band 2 der Umbrella Academy haben Gabriel Ba und Gerard Way ein fantastisches, einzigartiges und düsteres Setting geschaffen. Man erfährt mehr über die einzelnen Charaktere und lernt den Vater besser kennen. Das Ende hat mich richtig neugierig auf den nächsten Band gemacht und ich freue mich schon riesig mehr über die Umbrella Academy und deren Abenteuer zu lesen.
This one was a solid graphic novel, just as the first one! I am still thinking I missed something, but that is probably because I rarely read graphic novels and I never grew up with comics. I enjoyed this more than the first one though, but I'll take a wild guess and say that the upcoming Netflix show is going to be much more coherent and won't leave me guessing.
