Description

'Based on the YA bestseller by Maggie Stiefvater, this pulsating graphic novel combines magic, found family and romance as Blue Sargent follows the privileged students of the title on the quest to find the burial place of a legendary Welsh king.' - Waterstones Best Teenage and Young Adult Books of 2025

Blue Sargent has always felt ordinary. She was born into a family of clairvoyants, but she doesn't share their gift. Her 'gift'? A warning: if she kisses her true love, they will die. But who cares; who is there for Blue to love?

Enter Gansey, a rich student from Aglionby, the town's all-boys private school. Blue has always avoided Aglionby's 'Raven Boys' - their wealth, their privilege, their trouble - that is, until Gansey invites her to join four Raven Boys on their hunt for a legendary Welsh king buried along a nearby ley line. But a strange and shifting world awaits, one far more dangerous than anything they could ever have imagined.

Full of magic, found family and impossible romance, this stunning hardback graphic novel adaptation of a YA classic weaves a thrilling plot around a cast of characters that are impossible to forget.

A nice addition if you've read the novels, but, of course, it's way too quick. It's just not really possible to have the same, rather slow, pacing, that makes the mystery interesting, in this format/page number. So, I wouldn't really recommend it to new readers. The story is already kinda random and with this style you are just stumbling from one event to the next, so it's hard to have a proper connection to everything, but it was nice seeing scenes you know from the book in a visual way. I think my favorites were everything in the forest and, of course, each scene with our little Raven friend 🥰 The art was generally really nice, especially Blue's house looked great, and the character designs fit, but I have to say they were lacking a bit in emotions on the faces. Always looked a bit stiff to me 😅 I'm not really disappointed because that's what I expected from a graphic novel adaptation with only one volume for one book, and while I liked the series in general, it's not one of my favorites anyways. Nevertheless, I am excited for the next volume because "Dream Thieves" is my favorite, and Ronan, my favorite character ❤️
