Loved the world, its history, its magic, the characters and the plot.Didn't like the pacing. The book was too long, there were too many flashbacks that didn't contribute to the story and because of the different POVs plus flashbacks, I couldn't really get a feel for the characters and relate to them, so at the end, I was pretty much not interested in anyone anymore. I feel this could have benefited from being separated into two books - one containing the main story and a second one with all the background story.

I think this could’ve been really good. The world was inspired by Ireland, I guess, and I’m a sucker for this. It had earth magic and star prophecies, strong women and interesting men. There was even one woman who was probably trans, but that’s how I interpreted her character. There was so much potential, but I had to DNF around 50% through this book. There were so many POVs (at least five, if I remember correctly) and the many flashbacks (they appeared after three to four chapters and this book has quite a few of them) added POVs on top of that. So I never really connected with any of those characters. It felt like the book didn’t give me enough time to care about them. I know I should’ve, they were quite thought through, but I didn’t find it in me. The plot itself didn't exactly grip me either. This book would’ve profited from some serious editing.
