Die Polizistin Hanna Duncker kehrt auf Öland, wo sie aufgewachsen ist, zurück und nicht jeder ist froh darüber, denn Hanna ist die Tochter eines Mannes, der vor Jahren einen brutalen Mord an eine Bewohnerin beging. Schon an ihrem ersten Arbeitstag muss sie sich um den Tod eines Teenagers kümmern, der der Sohn von ihrer ehemals besten Freundin ist und so taucht der Leser in einen Kriminalroman ein, der durch die schnellen Wendungen einige Überraschungen bereithält. Die Thematik ist sehr zeitgemäß und die ruhige Atmosphäre, welche typisch für einen schwedischen Krimi ist, fand ich persönlich wunderbar. Auf die nächsten beiden Teile der Serie freue ich mich schon jetzt. Dieses Buch bekommt von mir eine klare Leseempfehlung.
