Wieder ein sehr langes Buch und ich denke, gut ein Drittel an Beschreibungen hätte ruhig wegfallen können. Aber eine sehr gute Charakterentwicklung und das Worldbuilding und Magiesystem sind schon richtig gut durchdacht und erhöhen den Spaß am Lesen. Ich lese auf jeden Fall weiter und kann die Serie wirklich für jede/n empfehlen, die High Fantasy mag.

Auch der zweite Band der Reihe konnte überzeugen und war sehr spannend. Schöne klassische Fantasy. Das Buch endet zwar nicht mit einem Cliffhanger, aber man merkt das die Geschichte - obwohl scho so viel passiert ist - erst noch richtig losgeht. Ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Band.

Still as great a third time around! The Flicker scene remains one of my favourites in all of the series.

Very nice sequel! It added some POVs I hated, and some I enjoyed. The end lays grand groundwork to build upon in the following books - my expectations are high. Nynavae is still an insufferable wretch and will probably stay one. I wish Rand would finally cave into his destiny - hero and all. And Perrin to have a POV again. His character development ground to a halt in this sequel - a pity; having a hero with ancient magic running through him but not giving him or his ability enough dance floor to shine. All in all this felt faster paced than the first part. Now that we'got all that world building and legends introductions over with. And oh my goodness, it took me forever to figure out who Lanfear is! Half throughout the book, I longed to shake Rand to wake him up and see her for who she is! And half of it wanting to shake the narrator into telling me who she truly is! Off to part 3.

Rueda del Tiempo 2/15 Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain. En este libro se consolida mucho mas el prospecto y el camino que tomarán nuestros diferentes personajes como Rand, Mat y Egwene (aunque claramente tenemos avances con Nynaeve y Perrin, pero no se comparan con lo de los otros 3 de Emond's Field). En general el libro mantiene un buen ritmo, y las últimas 200 páginas son tensas, en especial las últimas 100, donde pasa de todo. El libro se enfoca en la búsqueda de El Cuerno de Valere pero nos muestra más cosas, como el rito de iniciación para las Aes Sedai (it's fucked as fuck) o el mundo de las Piedras Portal. El mundo se expande más y se empieza a sentir más vivo a medida que vamos encontrando nuevos lugares como Falme o personas como los Seanchan hasta un pequeño vistazo a los Ogier. Será tradición hacerlo asi, pero habrá un top 3 de momentos porque, por qué no: 1) El final de Ingtar. Uff... UFFFF... Ya casi terminando el libro, viene Ingtar y se para frente a la armada Seanchan para que Rand pueda escapar. Yo soy de los que dice que si no hay cuerpo, no hay muerto (e incluso asi dudo), pero el sacrificio valio cada palabra. The last embrace of the mother welcome you home. 2) Mat sonando el Cuerno de Valere. Entre los Whitecloaks y los Seanchan, siendo solo 4 personas y encerradas, bajo la presión, Mat se ata al Cuerno, sonandolo, llamando a los héroes de todas las eras, incluyendo a Arthur Hawking, para que vengan en su ayuda. La niebla cubre el campo de batalla y los héroes hacen frente a todo el mierdero que se armó. Hay más detalles en este momento, pero no tengo para escribir tanto la verdad. 3) Shadowkiller. El nombre que los lobos le dan a Rand luego de que, sumergido en el vacío, en el saidin, hizo frente a un campamento de Trollocs, ganando tiempo para escapar con el Cuerno y la Daga. Perrin escucha este nombre cuando los lobos le comentan que los Trollocs no seran problema por un momento. Él duda hasta que Rand cuenta su historia, soportada por Loial, y es ahi cuando Perrin recibe la confirmación: Mat, Rand y él están metidos en la Rueda mas de lo que creen. El miedo de que, realmente, son ta'veren y no hay nada para evitarlo.
