With his queen missing, the king’s wrath knows no boundaries.

Captive. Challenger. Queen.

Enemies took her from the man who holds her heart. They might see her as weak, as a pawn in wicked games, but they’re no match for the first Ever Queen.

Let them think they’ve won. Her heart belongs to a beautiful monster, and she will never stop fighting until she’s back in his arms.

Captor. Villain. King.

They’ll die for touching her.

His heart belongs to a stunning little bird. He will never stop searching for her light across the skies. Not until the blood of his enemies spills at her feet, and his queen wears their bones around her neck.

Of Seas, Shadows, and Second Chances

WARNING: May contain spoilers! After “The Ever King”’s explosive ending, “The Ever Queen” wastes no time plunging us back into the chaos. Livia has been kidnapped, Erik is losing his mind trying to find her, and both are determined to claw their way back to each other—no matter the cost. What follows is a slow-burn reunion woven with heartbreak, tension, and longing that makes every page worth it. The pacing lags a bit in the middle, but the payoff, both emotional and epic, is undeniable. Erik Bloodsinger continues to be the ultimate bad-boy pirate of my dreams: possessive, loyal, tortured, and so devastatingly devoted. His journey here isn’t just about rescuing Livia—it’s about redemption, trust, and rebuilding after betrayal. Beneath all that steel and swagger, he’s a man haunted by love and loss, and watching him fight tooth and nail for both was incredibly satisfying. He’s still every bit the morally gray antihero, but this time, we get to see the cracks in the armor and they make him all the more magnetic. Livia truly shines in this installment. Stubborn, intelligent, and endlessly brave, she refuses to be a damsel waiting to be saved. Even when stripped of everything familiar, she fights for her freedom, her people, and her love. She’s fierce yet compassionate, a perfect balance to Erik’s chaos. Her strength is quiet but unyielding, and her growth through betrayal and captivity cements her as a heroine worth rooting for. The standout surprise of this book was Naza’s redemption arc. Her evolution from an antagonist to an unexpected ally was so compelling and layered; it added emotional depth and moral complexity to the story. Livia’s parents, too, deserve credit for the healing they bring, especially for Erik, whose wounds run deeper than the sea. And the found family vibes? Perfection. The loyalty, the humor, the heartbreak. All of it makes the world of The Ever feel alive and fiercely loved. The sea fae world expands beautifully in this sequel. The use of voice and song as magic, the herbal power of sea witches, and the new realms introduced all add a richness that feels cinematic. The writing is lush and vivid, I could picture every clash, every storm, every look of longing between Erik and Livia. While the pacing dips at times and the middle could have been tighter, the finale more than makes up for it with an unforgettable battle and a satisfying emotional payoff. A beautifully stormy sequel filled with passion, betrayal, and redemption. “The Ever Queen” might not hit quite as hard as “The Ever King”, but it’s still an enthralling, romantic, and vividly written story that delivers on everything I wanted—magic, heartbreak, spice, and a love that conquers oceans.
