Description

He requires a wife. She needs to kill him. All's fair in pursuit of love and revenge. This duet contains both halves of Ryker and Brynleigh's story in one volume: A Game of Love and Betrayal, and A Heart of Desire and Deceit, as well as a 1.5 short story following Jelisette and Emery, A Song of Blood and Shadows. What's a vampire to do when the fae who made her an orphan is searching for a wife?Make him choose her and end his life on their wedding night, of course.Brynleigh has been carefully planning this for years. Her plan is simple: date Ryker Waterborn, the Fae Representative's son, make him fall in love with her, and kill him after they say, "I do."Unfortunately, it will not be that easy. She won't be the only one going after Ryker's hand. Far from it. Two dozen men and women are competing in the Choosing, each searching for their perfect partner. The catch? It's a blind selection process, and contestants won't see each other until they have made their choice.Nothing will stand between Brynleigh and her revenge, not even a competition for love. This duet has a happy ending, and it is a contemporary enemies-to-lovers vampire/fae romantasy, perfect for fans of Sarah. J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Danielle L. Jensen.A Song of Blood and Shadows was previously published in the charity anthology, Court of the Fated.

Okay so I saw a few tiktok posts hyping this and I needed a pallet cleanser before I went back to reading my ARCs and boy could I not put this down. There isn’t half as much smut as in some of my other books but that’s a refreshing change. The building of the relationships between the FMC and the MMC when they cannot see or touch eachother only hear is fantastic! Throw in the touches on discrimination and then a rebellion group? I was gripped. The only reason I put this down as to sadly do my day job and sleep. Only then was because I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. This has already been recommended to my friend who’s also an avid reader and I shall be adding this to my “need physical copies” self as a hint to my husband
