Description
The victim is a twenty-three year old Norwegian woman who is a minor celebrity back home. Harry is free to offer assistance, but he has firm instructions to stay out of trouble. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Harry befriends one of the lead detectives, and one of the witnesses, as he is drawn deeper into the case. Together, they discover that this is only the latest in a string of unsolved murders, and the pattern points toward a psychopath working his way across the country.

A good start to the series
The first novel of the Harry Hole Series by Jo Nesbø doesn’t disappoint. The deeply flawed policeman is not only after a serial killer but is also trying to fight his own demons. I was expecting a nordic thriller but this book is set in Australia and it shows. There are a lot of conversations and a big focus on animals and stories about them which I didn’t really care for too much but it was interesting nonetheless. The characters are interesting and unique but lack a bit in depth. I really enjoyed this book but I hope that it gets better in the next few!
