The Americans in Divided Berlin

The presence of the USA as an occupying power between 1945 and 1994 left profound traces behind in West Berlin. Particularly the former American sector in the southwest of the city was shaped by the military, political, and cultural influence of the US armed forces.
This volume, published by the Allied Museum in Berlin, presents more than twenty historical sites, ranging from US Headquarters and American housing areas to such Cold War landmarks as Checkpoint Charlie.
