Description
Hawkins, Indiana, is in recovery. It’s been two months since Vecna’s earthquake tore through the town, and its residents are still reeling from the devastation. Nancy Wheeler has spent every waking minute on the hunt for Vecna, but he’s continued to elude her. How can she head to Emerson for college in the fall if Hawkins is still under the influence of the Upside Down?
When fellow classmate Joey Taft starts acting shifty at graduation, Nancy is convinced Vecna’s found his newest victim. Joined by fellow amateur sleuth Robin Buckley, Nancy doesn’t waste any time questioning Joey. What the girls discover leads them down the path of a bigger story than The Hawkins Post could ever have assigned Nancy. Why are people around town suddenly getting sick? Why is there a strange man tailing Nancy as she investigates? And, most important, does this even have anything to do with the Upside Down?
Together with Robin, Nancy embarks on a dangerous quest for the truth. The deeper the two dig, the further Nancy finds herself drawn into a web of intrigue that threatens to trap her in Hawkins . . . forever.

Nancy Wheeler ermittelt
Loved it all the way through
This was probably one of the best stranger things novels I have read out of all the ones I have read so far. Story was engaging and interesting and not once did I feel unmotivated or bored to continue reading this book, so I definitely can recommend reading this book not just for fans of the tv show
"Shh I think I see some fireflies."
Okay, so this novel was wonderful, I can definitely recommend reading it for the characters and the plot. As for the characters, the writing for all of them is SO in character it's astonishing. Additionally, this book helped me understand Nancy more, as well as her relationships with other characters from the show (such as robin and her mom in particular). It also addresses her relationship issues with Jonathan in a beautiful way and shows an unexpected amount of character development. I mourn most of these interpersonal scenes not being in the show and I really really urge you to read this if you love the characters in stranger things and want to learn more about Robin's family and her fears, but also Mrs Wheeler's opinions on Nancy's graduation. I especially love robins character being fleshed out more in chapter 26! (My favourite dynamic was without a doubt Robin's and Nancy's friendship!) The novel also explains why the Byers moved in with the Wheelers if you're interested. There's some Byler crumbs in this, and I loved every second Mike or Will were mentioned. They're so silly. Surprisingly, the beside characters that are book exclusive like joey really grew on me, and I mourned a lot of them as the plot is surprisingly high stakes, and a lot of them didn't make it out. The mystery is really engaging, and honestly, even though I knew no one would die before season 5, I was genuinely scared for nancy sometimes. Nedless to say, I love nancy more than ever now. I cried during the last two chapters when all of the conflicts were resolved and paid off , I really love that we end on a scene of Jonathan and nancy - oh the romance. In conclusion, you should totally read this for the characters even if the main plot is not as supernatural as usual.
