Description

This comic is about Willa, who has been born shorty before the so-called G-Day: the day when gravity disappeared from earth. She and many other people in Chicago have learned to adapt to the new circumstances and Willa loves flying. She can't imagine a live with gravity. However, her father lost his wife and her mother on G-Day, because she was outside when it happened and drifted off to space, along with millions of others. This is why he refuses to leave their apartment. I had the feeling that the world of the comic is being introduced in the first volume and that the story really starts on the last page. The first four chapters are still full of action and interesting details. For example rain storms without gravity - that looked so cool! Willa is a very cheerful young woman who enjoys her life without being naive. I like her a lot because she's honest and manages to remain optimistic despite the danger. Because I have recently read a lot of science fiction, though, I am missing the science part a little. Why is there no air resistance? How can the atmosphere even be maintained without gravity? How is it even possible that gravity just vanishes and why does Willa's dad think that he can bring it back? I'm sure that these questions will be addressed in the future (since Willa doesn't really care about science in the beginning), I'm just really curious! That is the only fault I could find. The comic has a beautiful art style and I liked it a lot. I look forward to reading the next volume!

3.5* I really like the concept of this book. It was really fun and interesting to explore this new low gravity world. The artwork was also great, it’s really vivid and makes the world come alive. I also like Willa and could understand her wanting to see more of the world. However some of her decisions seemed a bit naive. The story wasn’t incredibly creative, especially the villain seemed quite one-dimensional but it was still enjoyable.

It’s a good start. The artwork is beautiful. And I love the strong female lead
