Ich liebe die Skandar-Reihe so sehr, dass ich nicht warten konnte bis das Buch endlich auf deutsch erscheint. Für mich ist es eine der besten Fantasy-Reihen für Jugendliche der letzten Jahre mit einem grandiosen Worldbuilding, starken Charakteren und der Message, dass Liebe und Freundschaft über alles siegen können - absolut lesenswert für alle Fantasyfans jeden Alters, die Lust auf blutrünstige Einhörner und ganze besondere Formen der Magie haben. "Skandar and the Spirit War" ist das große Finale dieser epischen Geschichte um die Einhornreiterinnen und -reiter. Die Insel steht kurz vor einem Krieg. Für Skandar und seine Freunde geht es um alles - ihr Leben auf der Insel, die Sicherheit des Festlandes und ihre eigene Zukunft. Es ist wieder großartig, wie sich in diesem Band die Charaktere weiterentwickeln, wie sie noch erwachsener werden und gleichzeitig ihrer Selbst treu bleiben. Ich mag alle Mitglieder von Skandars Quartett so sehr und liebe es, wie sich ihre Freundschaft verändert und wächst. Gleichzeitig gibt es mit Skandars Schwester einen Charakter, der tragischer nicht sein könnte. Gerade zum Ende hin hatte ich mehrfach Tränen in den Augen - wegen Kenna, aber auch in so vielen anderen bewegenden Momenten. Für mich enthält die Geschichte so viele Emotionen, die mich alle erreicht haben. Ganz nebenbei finden epische Einhornkämpfe statt, Rätsel werden gelöst und man lernt dir Insel und die Welt der Einhörner noch besser kennen. Es ist traurig diese Welt nun verlassen zu müssen. Und jetzt stellt sich die große Frage, was lese ich als nächstes?
