So begins the first story in She and Her Cat, a collection of four interrelated, stream-of-conscious short stories in which four women and their feline companions explore the frailty of life, the pain of isolation, and the limits of communication.

Such a heartwarming story! The book encourages its readers to live in the present and carries the reader from one scene to the other. I liked the calming writing style and the simple language that shows the importance of friendship and love. The four beautiful artworks set the atmosphere of love and serenity. This read gave me comfort and made me feel the longing between the pages. It feels like a warm blanket. A refreshing book to take rest in our modern society. Rezension: (kann Spoiler enthalten) Ich liebe Katzen ja, da brauche ich natürlich auch unbedingt Katzenbücher und nach der Ausgabe, die ich mir von "She and her cat" gekauft habe, hatte ich in ein paar Buchhandlungen mehrmals gesucht. Sie gefällt mir optisch schonmal echt gut, ich mag das kleine gebundene Format und die Zeichnung der Katze ist einfach niedlich. Aber vor allem ging es mir natürlich um den Inhalt. Ein wenig ähnelt die Storyline hier dem Aufbau von "The cat and the city" von Nick Bradley. Wir haben auch hier mehrere Figuren, die ihre eigenen Geschichte erzählen, verbunden durch die Katzen, denen sie begegnen. Und ich mochte es so so sehr. Vor allem gefielen mir die Szenen, die aus der Sicht der Katzen waren. Das war irgendwie mal eine ganz andere Erfahrung. Wir beschäftigen uns hier mit Selbstliebe, Zweifeln, Angst, Trauer, Entfaltung. Dieses Buch bietet uns Charaktere, die alle an einem Scheideweg stehen, es demonstriert uns die Macht einer Katze, und lässt uns mitfühlen, wie ein paar Menschen ihren Weg finden. Ich glaube, es ist für jeden etwas dabei, die Figuren bieten eine große Bandbreite und jeder wird sich wohl in dem ein oder anderen wiederfinden können. Ich habe es sehr genossen, die Katzen und ihre Menschen zu begleiten, auch wenn ich mir natürlich gewünscht hätte, dass es ein wenig länger angedauert hätte. 5 Sterne

What a lovely, heartwarming little story! I read it in one sitting. Not only is it really short but also catchy. It’s adorable but also sad in some way. I think we truly should consider, that life is beautiful, even tho it is hard sometimes. This book made me feel seen and respected as a human and it was fun to read what cats would think. Not only about us humans and how we live, but also how they have their own unique lives and ways to think. I really appreciate this book and I can’t really tell why it’s not a 5 star for me. I think it’s because it’s such a „normal“ setting. And the description of the places could be more specific and with more details for me. Still you could picture what you’ve read, which was very beautiful to me! All in all I really adored it and will probably read again if I feel like I want to read a quick beautiful story. But; you have to figure out yourself. Much love <3
Ein Kater erlebt das Erwachsenwerden und Selbstfinden seines Frauchens, mit all den guten und schlechten Emotionen und Erfahrungen, die es von ihr einzuordnen gilt, die der Kater aber nicht ganz versteht. Diese Geschichte ist so emotional und tiefgründig, dazu aber auch unglaublich poetisch, denn einige Passagen reimen sich sogar. Definitiv ein Manga, für den man in der richtigen Stimmung sein muss, aber wenn man sich mit Melancholie umgeben möchte, ist dies eine Geschichte dafür. Es gibt sie tatsächlich auch als richtiges Buch, wenn man mit Mangas nichts anfangen kann.
Ein schönes Buch mit vielen kleinen Geschichten bzw. Ausschnitten über das Leben von Mensch und Katze. Zu Beginn ist es jedoch ein wenig unklar, dass hier verschiedene Personen und Katzen erzählen. Sie scheinen sich alle (zu Beginn) fremd zu sein, sind jedoch auf die ein oder andere Weise miteinander verstrickt. Alle Protagonisten hadern mit ihren eigenen Schwierigkeiten und versuchen ihr Leben irgendwie zu meistern. Die Katzen, die in ihrer Leben treten, helfen ihnen dabei. Die Texte selbst haben eine leichte melancholisch-philosophische Note, die einen liebevollen berühren ("I couldn't do anything about her problems. I just lived my days at her side"). Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Erzählung darüber, wie Katzen als liebevolle Gefährten das Menschenleben bereichern.
She and her cat is a beautifully written book. I really like that the stories are kind of connected and that you can read the stories from the cats and the persons perspective. Overall, it was a very cute sometimes also sad book and I would definitely recommend it. also if you like the before the coffee gets cold books, you will probably also like this book because it has like a similar vibe not because of the cat obviously but just because the stories are kind of connected, and there are multiple stories of different perspectives.
