Oh my gawd – das war ein tiefer und sehr ehrlicher Einblick in das Leben von Rebel Wilson. Ich war wirklich erstaunt, wie detailreich sie über ihr Leben berichtet. Sie schreibt über das Verhältnis zu ihrer Familie, ihre Schulzeit, superpeinliche Momente, ihre Essprobleme und Diäten, ihre Karriere als Schauspielerin und ihr Liebesleben. Ich hatte grosse Freude beim Lesen und finde sie eine sehr sympathische Frau mit viel Humor. 🩷 Beim Kauf habe ich noch überlegt, ob ich das Hard- oder Softcover bestellen soll, und mich schliesslich für das Softcover entschieden. Die Qualität ist top – die acht Seiten mit Fotos sind farbig und auf gestrichenem Papier gedruckt. 💯
Manche Stellen haben sich etwas gezogen, gerade den Einstieg fand ich nicht so fließend. Die Kapitel über Rebel als Erwachsene hingegen fand ich super. Man erfährt auf jeden Fall viel Interessantes über Rebel selbst, ihr Umfeld, über ihre Filme, Hollywood und das Filmbusiness allgemein. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass das Buch ehrlich ist. Klar, soll einen der Schreibstil auch zum Lachen bringen (was bei mir oft geklappt hat), aber es wirkt nicht beschönigt oder verklärt.
Die Biografie von Rebel Wilson ist anders als ich es erwartet hatte. Sie wirkt oft sehr gekünstelt „lustig“ gemacht. Vielleicht ist das ihr Charakter, ich weiß es nicht. Ich hatte mir mehr Tiefe gewünscht - besonders in den Punkten mit der Klage, oder Familie - Liebe etc. Mir fehlte ja leider oft der Tiefgang, um mich besser identifizieren zu können.
