Description
The Pulitzer Prizes for Press Photography are latecomers within the prestigious award system. Established during world War II, in 1942, they started with a general category called "Photography", covering all kinds of pictures. After about a quarter-century, in 1968, this award category was devided into two separate prize groups, entitled "Spot News Photography" and "Feature Photography". This volume at first presents the decision-making processes leading to the annual Pulitzer Prize winners. In addition, in each case one award-earing photo is reproduced to give an idea about the broad spectrum of aspects and themes declared prize-worthy by the jurors.
