Hat mir wieder gut gefallen! Laura und ihre Familie ziehen schon wieder um , dieses Mal vom Indian Territory an den Plum Creek, nur ca. 3 Meilen entfernt von einer kleinen Stadt. Besonders eindrucksvoll fand ich die Beschreibungen des harten Alltags der Ingalls: Es gibt (natürlich) keinen Strom, die einzige Heizung im bitterkalten Winter ist der Ofen. Sie sind dem extremen Wetter ziemlich schutzlos ausgeliefert: Blizzards, Präriefeuer, Insektenplagen - das alles bewirkt, das die eh schon nicht gerade üppige Ausstattung immer weiter reduziert wird. Drum muss "Pa" sich auch des öfteren abseits von der eigenen Farm verdingen, um genug zu verdienen, damit er die Familie ernähren kann. Laura und ihre Schwestern können erstmals zur Schule gehen, die aus der Serie bekannte "böse" Nellie Olsen kommt auch im Buch vor, nimmt aber nicht so eine dominante Rolle ein. Ich habe das Buch wieder sehr gerne gehört und werde auch die weiteren Bücher der Reihe hören - im nächsten Buch wird schon wieder umgezogen, dieses Mal an den Silver Lake.
