Ana and Reid needed a lucky break.

The horrifically complicated birth of their first child has left Ana paralyzed, bitter, and struggling: with mobility, with her relationship with Reid, with resentment for her baby. That's about to change with the words any New Yorker would love to hear-affordable housing lottery.

They've won an apartment in the Deptford, one of Manhattan's most revered buildings with beautiful vistas of Central Park and stunning architecture.

Reid dismisses disturbing events and Ana's deep unease and paranoia as the price of living in New York-people are odd-but he can't explain the needle-like bite marks on the baby.

"Nestlings" ist definitiv eines: Einzigartig. Einzigartig gut geschrieben, einzigartig in seiner Auseinandersetzung mit Trauer, Mutterschaft, Wochenbett und Behinderung und einzigartig spannend. Definitiv ein Horrorroman und somit auch nicht unbedingt für jeden geeignet, aber wer dieses Genre gerne liest, dem kann ich das Buch absolut empfehlen. Slow paced, erschreckend, atmosphärisch und unerwartet emotional. Klare Leseempfehlung!

I really liked this book. It was fun to read and kept me interested the whole way through. Also i am a sucker for "vampires" anyway, haha, so that was great. I liked the take, that they were more insect-like in some ways. I really appreciate it when there's more to a vampire than them just being pale people with fangs. On the other hand they were kind of chill .... so at the end i caught myself almost rooting for them? I don't know how that happened tbh The ending was fine though, i was happy with it. Also i really came to like Ana whereas Reid already annoyed me halfway through the book. In the beginning i thought i would really like him, and Ana would be the one i dislike but he made me so mad, it was the exact opposite lol The book could have been a bit more creepy for my taste, although it had it's moments. I also wished there were a few more "vampiric incidents" throughout the story, because i liked them so much.
