Wie hab ich auf Nixon‘s Geschichte hingefiebert. Vom ersten Teil weg wollte ich wissen, was in ihm vorgeht. Warum er so kaputt ist. Zoe ist sein perfekter Gegenpart. Die Beiden sind ein wundervolles Paar und ihre Geschichte ist wunderschön. Der Abschluss für Hush Note ist Zucker. Nix ist und bleibt mein liebster Charakter der Reihe, aber Quinns Geschichte in Band 2 hat mich emotional am allermeisten abgeholt. Wenn Rockstarromance euer Ding ist, kann ich euch die Reihe nur empfehlen 🫶🏻
Die Hush Note Reihe besteht eigentlich aus drei Bänden. Allerdings werden diese drei Bände von drei unterschiedlichen Autoren geschrieben. Anhand der Klappentexte kann man erkennen, daß sich jedes Buch um ein Band Mitglied dreht. Hush Note heißt die weltberühmten Band im Buch, welche aus zwei männlichen und einem weiblichen Mitglied besteht. Zu meiner Schande muss ich gestehen dass ich mit Band drei begonnen habe. Aber auch nur, weil es von Rebecca Yarros geschrieben wurde. Ich habe kurz vorher In the likely event beendet und wollte einfach noch einmal in ihre Welt des schreibens eintauchen. Und ja, ja wirklich auch dieses Buch hat mich so sehr von den Socken gehauen. Auch dieses Musik Universum hat mich gefesselt und berührt. Diese Liebesgeschichte war absolut genial, spürbar und fast lebendig in meinem Kopf. So viele Probleme, so viele, Emotionen, so viel Arbeit und so viel Liebe. In der Geschichte geht es um Nixon und Zoe. Um Verlust, Verzweiflung, Alkohol, Drogen und andere süchte. Aber auch um Freundschaft, Familie, Zusammenhalt, Vertrauen, erotik und Liebe. Die Möglichkeit sich selbst wiederzufinden, sich selbst zu heilen, sich mit sich selbst auseinanderzusetzen. Ich bin immer noch Emotion in der Geschichte gefangen. Rebecca weiß wie sie ihre Leser beschäftigen und berühren kann. I love it. Ob ich die anderen Bände noch lesen werde weiß ich nicht. Aber vielleicht kehre ich noch einmal zur Band zurück.

In this installment Yarros delivered a story that wreaked havoc with my emotions. The good thing it had me smiling at the end. Nixon stole steal a piece of your heart. He may be a badass on the guitar, but beneath all that lay a broken soul. He tried to mask his pain with alcohol, prescription drugs and sex. However, he recognized this was not the answer and he needed to get his life together for his sake and that of the band and without anyone's intervention he took the necessary steps. Nixon showed tremendous growth throughout the story. Learning of the events that led to him tumbling down this hole broke my heart. He struggled daily, with the many temptations associated with his world but he remained steadfast and determined not to revert to his old ways. Falling love gave him an extra boost. The chemistry between him and Zoe flew off the charts. The idea of her being there to keep tabs on him, did not sit well with either of them, but their emotions had other plans. He tried to rile her up, but she pushed right back. Soon they found themselves enjoying each other company. Their journey has a couple encountered several roadblocks, which came as no surprise in light of Nixon's struggles. So, yes there is angst but it fits and added authenticity to the story. One of the hardest things is to show someone who feels they are not worthy that they deserved to be loved. Zoe faced this challenge with Nixon, but she never gave up on him. The story was not all sad. Yarros injected humour in the most appropriate circumstances. Moments, which had me giggling from time to time, especially the scene featuring Zoe's ex. Narration Carly Robins and Tim Paige narrated. While I am familiar with Carly Robins as a narrator, this is my first time listening to Tim Paige. They both did a wonderful job with this story. Their tone, portrayal of the characters and emphasis on the emotional aspects of the story amplified the listening experience. Conclusion/Recommendation This is my first experience with the author and I doubt it will be the last.
