But when she discovers the reason for Kieran's initial resistance, Em finds herself torn between helping Siobhan find closure with her series and her now undeniable feelings for Kier. Super süß und cosy, für mich etwas zu glatt geschliffen
"A hot Irishman to my right, my favorite author sitting behind me, and a landscape full of magic around me. It occurred to me that in this very moment I was living my best life." Mit diesem Buch bekommt ihr eine cosy Romance mit Setting in Irland: viel Regen, Tee, gemütliche Cottages, Ausflügen zu Castles, gesellige Abende in Pubs, und ganz, ganz viele Bücher drumherum. Also das perfekte Buch für den Herbst (wobei ich es auch im Sommer sehr genossen habe). Emily, genannt Em, flüchtet vor ihrer sie einengenden, missbräuchlichen Mutter von den USA nach Irland. Dort soll sie ein Jahr lang ihre absolute Lieblingsautorin, Siobhan Riordan, als Assistentin unterstützen und zusätzlich im Buchladen von Siobhans Sohn Kieran aushelfen. Schnell zeigen sich zwei Herausforderungen: Siobhan muss den letzten Teil ihrer beliebten Fantasy-Jugendbuchreihe schreiben, hat aber eine seit Jahren anhaltende Schreibblockade. Und Kieran scheint Em aus unerfindlichen Gründen zu hassen und loswerden zu wollen. Es ist eine kleine Enemies to lovers-RomCom, die durch den spielerischen, humorvollen Umgang der Protagonist*innen schnell in ein Wohlwollen aufgelöst wird. Es gibt noch ein paar Plottwists und auch eine überraschende Dramatik im Buch, die ich nicht spoilern werde. Das Setting hat mich sehr verzaubert, auch die Begeisterung aller Figuren für Bücher hat natürlich auf großen Anklang gestoßen. Em und Kieran waren mir jedoch etwas zu perfekt, es war insgesamt dann doch vorhersehbar und glatt geschliffen - was es aber nicht weniger cosy macht. Man merkt, dass die Autorin ihren Charakteren sehr viel Liebe entgegen gebracht hat. Also ein perfektes Buch zum Einkuscheln, sich nach Irland zu wünschen und ein Leben inmitten von Büchern zu führen. Aber Achtung: das Cover täuscht, es kommt keine einzige Katze vor 😾Dafür aber immerhin ein liebenswürdiger Hund (warum auch immer der es nicht aufs Cover geschafft hat). such a cute, light read that made me kick my feet and giggle at times. i always loved the enemies to lovers trope but this one was different from what i'm used to. the scenery was beautifully written and the characters so thoughtfully created, it made me sink into the storyline immediately. the plot was so sad i had tears in my eyes. also, the ending was just amazing and i think i'm gonna read more books by jenn mckinlay :)

Achhh, diese Buch war ziemlich gut🤭. Ich liebte die tension zwischen Kier und Em. Besonders, wie man schon merkte, dass er etwas für sie empfindet. Der kelinstadt vibe war sehr gut getroffen!😌 und ich mochte es auch, dass es um wichtige Themen ging. Die Geschickte mit der Autorin und der Buchreihe, war ziemlich mitreissend und traurig aber auch wunderschön! 😍
