THE GREAT GATSBY BUT MAKE IT CYBERPUNK 🫨 Ich habe noch nie so viel Hoffnungslosigkeit und Hoffnung gleichzeitig gespürt. Eine Dystopie, die viel zu nah an unserer Zukunft liegt. Kaputte Menschen, die man gleichzeitig hasst und doch etwas Sympathie für übrig hat. Aber nicht so schlimm, wenn Jazz im Hintergrund spielt. Local Heavens war glaube ich für mich book of the year. Es hatte so paar Schwächen, aber man vergisst sie schnell, wenn man so richtig in die Story reinkommt. Das Worldbuilding war großartig und der Kontrast zwischen Gatsbys Party und den kleinen Menschen, die zwischen GPUs leben, hat mich unglaublich verstört. Tom ist ein Rassist, welcher sich hinter Logik versteckt. Daisy ist eine schreckliche Mutter. Jordan… nein, du hast mir gefallen. Und jetzt sind wir bei Nick und Jay. Ich weiß, gar nicht was ich sagen will. Nicks realistischer Pessimismus und Gatsbys kindlicher Optimismus in dieser neuen Art von Welt waren erfrischend. Oft habe ich einfach nur die Wand angestarrt und versucht zu begreifen, was ich fühle. Das Ende hat mich zum Weinen gebracht. Und irgendwo möchte ich doch wie Gatsby sein und an Wunder glauben. Definitiv ein Buch, an welches ich mich noch Jahre lang erinnern werde. (Und ich glaube ich werde noch ein paar Tage brauchen um alles zu verdauen 😭😭) (Und ich liebe das Cover Design 😭)
