The SheReads Best Romance of the Year
An emotional, irresistible second-chance romance filled with sparkling humor, big feelings, and "melt your face off intimacy" (Jessica Joyce) from celebrated USA Today bestselling author Tarah DeWitt.
This time, they'll get it right.
Wren and Ellis Byrd fell in love as kids, had their son Sam when they were only teenagers, and built a life together in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon. They were made for one another . . . until they fell apart. Now divorced and in their 30s, Wren runs the bakery in town, while Ellis works as a firefighter. They live separate lives, though they are hardly off each other's minds.
When Ellis and Wren move Sam into college, Ellis convinces Wren to take an extended road trip back to Spunes to see if they can give their relationship one last chance. Amid the gorgeous California coastline and the intimacy they have missed for years, Wren starts to think it just might be possible. But can the past truly be left behind? When words fail and old wounds resurface, it's a soul-baring letter that could finally reveal the truth-or close the door on them forever.

Second chance marriage ☺️
I somehow really like a second chance if the couple has been married before (in books). It just feels like a different kind of connection. I had some trouble getting into the book and it took me forever to read the firs 30 % but after that I got hooked and read the rest in almost one sitting. The ice cream scene though...that was kinda weird to me. Aside from that the spice was spicing 🌶
Dnf at 60%. God I wanted to like this so much. I don‘t know where I heard about this books or this author or if I just Fell in love with the covers but this wasn‘t for me. It was my first second-Chance romance and I hoped for realistic Problems and Problem solvent. For a love Story that could be like in real life. That is what I hoped for in a second-Chance. Somewhat I got realistic Problems, but it was just all over the top for me. Their Communication was horrible, for them being in their thirties. Ellis was written in a way to hope everyone would love him, which was so obvious that it just was uncomfortable. The whole premise of this book sounded so good and the idea was so cute, but the execution just wasn‘t what I hoped for and I felt line very character was insuffurable.
